Why is it when people speculate what the Italian said was racial you bring up that its all rumour, then your more than willing to say "materazzi was talking about ZZ wife! It's all pointless."?? I agree though, well done Italy.

No no you misunderstood what i was meaning! What im saying is other folks are saying materazzi was talking about ZZ wife, not me, i was'nt there, so i dont know what was said, what i do know is that ZZ headbutted materazzi.

What amazes me is players punch/slap/kick/nip/stamp on other players all the time, and they get sent off! and nobody gives a flying fuck what the other player had said to the guy for him to react in that way! It's only a big deal now cuz it is one of the greatest players in the world.

^No it's only a big deal because Zidane is experienced and has played in Italy and Spain to of the most racist and infantile leagues in Euroupe. He has never reacted like this before and is used to wehat goes on, but Sunday was the final of the world cup his last match and the butt was completely outrageous and there must have been serious provocation for him to do that.

To say he's "never reacted like this before" is absurd, he's got form. He's stamped on a player before whlst playing for France and headbutted someone else whilst playin for Bordeaux. Think he's also had a run in with a referee before to.

However, i agree that it does need to be established what was said. This is the best ever European player who is incredibly experienced, playing in his final game which happens to be the World Cup final with 10 mins remaining before penalty kicks and for some reason he's snapped and butted another player as a result of something that was said. This wasn't your regular run of the mill bit of banter IMO.

I'm surprized to see nobody bringing up Eric Cantona though. He dropped kicked a fan who was throwing anti french remarks to him and now he does commercials and seen as one of the best players to ever step onto the field. lol :thumb:

Joga Bonito mes amis. ;)
I remember seeing that on TV with my old man, lol. I remember that my old man almost died choking on his ice, from his whiskey on the rocks, when he started to laugh real hard.

Me, I had cola running out my nose.

Funniest shit ive ever seen on a field, AFTER the infamous Korean league game where everyone started fly kicking eachother. Not one single punch thrown. Just like 500 flykicks. lol.

pwace.

Italy might lose their title?

This is in french, so those who understand french will know why.

-------

I was wondering about this. I knew about the point deductions, but I wasn't sure what happens in the elimination rounds.

IMO They should be disqualified then (according to what the lip reader said that he said).

Zidane goes from hothead who loses the World Cup for France to a crusader against dsicrimination in soccer.

zidane said it was about his omther and sister. its maybe not racist
Maybe he didn't go in depth just yet until he faces FIFA.

Insulting his mother & sister can still be classified as racist, depending on what was said exactly. But if we were to believe the experienced lip reader, then his comments are/were pure racist. ('We know you are a son of a terrorist whore')

EDIT: What did the article say, FlipMo? I can't read French but I'm interested to know what it says. Sounds pretty serious stuff.

Peace~

For the matches with no points being attributed, the team in question will be disqualified.

FIFA will do nothing. They'll confirm that Zidane is the guilty one and the racist Materazzi will sneak out because Zizou doesn't have anybody to witness the whole incident alonside himself. And, he was sent out thanks to the video replay. :fury: So, every Italian title is under suspicion except for that in 1982. ;)

I guess nobody besides the two players at this point know 100% what was said, but I just think in such a crucial game with very little time remaining that it must have been pretty bad for him to snap like that. I dont think it was wrong that Zidane was sent off, from everything we can see he should have been. But I think the truth needs to come out, if for anything so that Italy can claim the Cup fully and all this can be over with.

My friend in Colombia said that there's rumor that France may be trying to get them to replay the final if they can prove the 4th official used the replay to red card Zidane.

Anyone know anything about this?
