You get some when you buy the console, and you can buy cards with a certain number of Wii Points on.

all user name bashing aside, i just stuck with this name for everything i did after someone made my yahoo user id for a fantasy baseball team and named it tennis_dog...way back during freshman year....there's nothing wrong with it... once we go to college we tend to ditch the "childish" names....but it appears i lost you at the "once we go to college part"....

Amazon quickly sells out pre-orders for Nintendo Wii

It seems some early risers were temporarily able to place a pre-order for the Nintendo Wii, at the online retailer, Amazon. The new gaming console is not to be released officially until November 19. It's not possible to know exactly how many of the consoles were pre-ordered, however, the device hit #6 on the top sellers list for Game Hardware category! So, that's a bunch!

From reading comments on the Amazon website, it was available for order beginning sometime last Friday, Sept 15. Having sold out all pre-orders the same day, this would seem to indicate a tremendous pent up demand for these devices. Some actually bought more than one!

Here is a comment from one customer that made it under the wire: "Amazon offered preorders with Wii Sports included for $249 today. With 1 day expedited shipping ran $283.83. No absurd bundle required. They began taking preorders this morning and had sold out of preorders by 11 am cst."

Take Two bringing M-rated games to Wii?

While Nintendo consoles have never been a real target for M-rated games, that could all be changing soon. Several M-rated games have been confirmed as coming to the Wii, including The Godfather and Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell: Double Agent. And don't forget Ubisoft's flagship Red Steel -- it's gotta be M-rated, right?

Although several M games were released for the GameCube, Nintendo has never had a Grand Theft Auto title on any of their console platforms, although it made a brief appearances on the Game Boy Color and Game Boy Advance systems. But this won't be the case for much longer, if Reggie has any say about it.

"We're reaching out to every publisher, frankly every day. I'll be spending some time later today with the folks over at Take Two to see what type of support they can give our console ... the fact is there will be M-rated content on the Wii console. EA has already announced that they're bringing The Godfather to our console. And we want every single best-selling game to be available on Wii. Whatever that content is."

This means you could be swinging the Wii-mote as Tommy Vercetti wielding his baseball bat. Bring it.
