note that i said, the previous two....sunshine sucked balls...that was nintendo's attempt at being innovative with a water tank....
Fuck off did Sunshine suck balls. It was probably the best game on the 'Cube. I imagine you picked it up, saw that Mario was on the cover, got worried that someone would think you were "omfg a fag playng on his GAYcube" and ran off to play some nice, manly gridiron game.
ratings dont mean shit to me.... if you're stupid enough to buy a game just because "EGM gave it a 9", .....you're stupid... the range of scores for most games is almost always all over the place...madden 07 got a 9 in some mag, and 7 in XBM.....oh no...a 7....maybe it isnt good?
My point was, it was well received. It has an average rating of 91% on GameRankings. If you thought it "sucked balls", you're in the minority. If you're stupid enough to ignore some of the greatest games ever made (namely the Mario series and the Zelda series) because they don't involve big, sweaty men chasing after a ball and shoving each other to the ground then
you're an idiot.
but how can you say a system is gonna be good when it isnt even out yet?
The same way you can say you don't like the controller when you haven't tried it yet. The console looks good, the games look good...it's gonna be good.
i think, looking at the controller, to its a given, that the controller sucks....maybe i'll change my mind when i actually hold one
Don't even bother picking one up. If you don't appreciate Mario and Zelda, then Nintendo is not for you.
but as of now, nintendo is just in this business to make money...arent they all??
Some moreso than others. Who is it that made your X-Box 360 again? Oh that's right, Micro$oft.
well, they hype their shit, but never support it....
NES, SNES, N64, GameBoy, GBA, DS. Someone seems to have a
very short memory.
your argument, like i said before, just gives me flashbacks of a couple years ago when the gaycube was coming out....i want to know, what was the gaycube to you? was it a success, a flop, or it did pretty well?? and i dont mean you personally...if you enjoyed it...apparently you did.... but how did the public receive it?
I rarely played my GameCube. It didn't sell well and it wasn't well supported. It still made a profit, and it still boasted some good games.
nintendo's innovative design was having mini disks, then having them spin in the opposite direction, and have a carry handle in the back so you could look like a fairy with your little lunchbox....
I don't think you understand "innovation". If you want to see some innovation from Nintendo, look at the N64 controller. Or play some of the games. Using a different proprietary format isn't innovation. Innovation was pioneering D-Pads, analogue sticks, shoulder buttons and rumble paks. Innovation was creating a dual-screen handheld console with a touch-sensitive display. Innovation is the motion sensitive control of the Wii, allowing games developers to create new, interesting ways for gamers to play. You'll know what innovation is in 5 years time when Sony and Microsoft copy it.
umm...i dunno how to spell it...it begins with an "x" um...x-cube? x-station?? mmm.... xbox??? yeah. thats it...and um...game station...game box...gamecast....oh, playstation 2...thee we go....
Dictionary.com has a nice new layout. Head on over there and look up "sarcasm".
apart from the mario series and super smash brothers, all first party games of nintendo's have been shit the past couple of years, including zelda....well, i never really liked zelda..... but then again, my gaycube's been gathering dust and i've been playing the hell out of my xbox and ps2...
You don't like Zelda either? Well then, the best games franchise is history must be shit. All hail games where you pick up a ball and run, trying to avoid people running in the opposite direction. Sounds like fun to me. Madden FTW!!
Final words.
I don't understand how you can talk about the Wii being the same as the GameCube
when it's the only console that's actually different. Sony and Microsoft are just releasing their old consoles with shinier graphics. As per usual, Nintendo is the only one actually driving the games industry forward. Even if the Wii doesn't outsell the competition, I can guarantee you it will be more important to the gaming industry as a whole. The technology will eventually become standard and the genres it creates will become commonplace. Sony and Microsoft will strip out the technology, copy it, and continue to be successful on the back of people like you who buy the new, shinier versions of the same games you were playing 10 years ago. If it wasn't for Nintendo you'd be playing Madden with fucking joystick and two buttons.
You owe more to Nintendo than you're smart enough to realise.
