He makes everyone else better around him imo.
I'm glad the dude continues to do music non-stop. I love that he feels he still has to prove things to everyone.

I loved his 1st LP, was the best thing I'd heard in a while. I was really excited when his 2nd LP was due but man, I didn't like it one bit. I haven't enjoyed any of the LP's he's released after that.

He is a brilliant producer without a doubt.

I like that he tries different things, and I find his music enjoyable.. I gotta laugh at some of the things that come out of his mouth. As a live performer he is AMAZING. That storytellers he did was great.

Though Kanye is talented in putting together music, I fail to see the hype everybody is talking about. That bouncy happy shit gets on my nerves. As far as his rapping, he does drop a tight line here and there, but even in that department, I can't listen to a whole straight album of him. The only flawless song I really like by him is Slow Jams. Thats my opinion though. Considerin I stay bumpin that westcoast shit from the 90's, you gotta understand why I fail to see the "classic" aspect of his catalog.

You know, to say any rapper is an "amazing live performer" kind of discredits live performance itself. Come on, it's karaoke. I love love love rap music, we all do, but I admitted to myself a long time ago that the concerts (including the sacred Tupac's) are filled with yelling over their own songs. It fucking sucks.

And I saw Kanye in Chicago in 2006. He was abominable.

I guess you never seen his Glow in The Dark Tour then. I seen him just after his mum died and he was pretty shit, then saw him a year later on his Glow In The Dark Tour and it was a billion times better. It was a show instead of him just doing "karaoke"

As far as my opinion on him now, Me and him a through. 808s was wack as fuck, and when he used the phrase OMG in a song (that bullshit with Keri Hilson and Neyo) I was like OMG what a faggot, im done with him. Next he'll be like
" I do this rap shit and I do it well,
All you other rappers make me lol"

Vinnie Paz summed it up well enough for me
"Kanye West, gay rapper, thats where lines are drawn"

Oh and College Dropout was overrated!

I saw him in I think 2007 and I could understand every word, it was on the same level as his record. I saw Method Man & Redman when they came and they basically did what you said (yelling) but Kanye didn't and thats why I say he's a great performer. You must have caught a bad night. The only other "hip hop" live show I have seen that I can put above him is The Roots.

I like music that can put me in a good mood (as well as the kind that makes me think, and feel other emotions) and Kanye's music does that, his rapping is well.. different but I dont consider it wack, it works for me.

I think he's talented producer, and rapper. Obviously his production is on another level, but College Dropout was damn near a classic for me. Nothing else really like it. The albums that followed had some hidden gems, too.

As for performing, I've never seen him live. My boy saw his show in Chicago this year and said he killed it.. i wasn't there but he said there were mad cameras filming so it should be on tv or something soon...

hater.

trash? come on. the best? no.

at least he's doing that charity stuff (interview):
A bunch of rappers do charity. The media most of the time would rather only focus on the negative times of their lives

anywayz, I really don't think Kanye deserves all this attention he's getting.

the new joint with twista is one of the best things he's done in years.

this Saturday at 8 on Fuse is his Chicago concert... you gonna check it out? If this joint around the corner isn't showing it then I'll probably just record it..
