Ms. Palin is always in the spotlight these days, for better or for worse. Even at this juncture, just days after the news came that she would be leaving her post as Alaska governor, the woman is drawing more attention than ever. Which is not surprising at all given the nature of her resignation.

It is unclear exactly what is next on the agenda for Palin, as unclear as the reason why she left office before finishing out at least one term in the Governor's chair in the first place, and cue the dissent. No doubt the doll-face *edit* Caribou Barbie */edit* of the Republican party is engaging in some risky business, if in fact the plan all along is to step out of the spotlight and focus on preparing for the 2012 presidential campaign, she is really lacking in credentials and a viable platform to stand on.

Lucrative book-deals, and Oprah appearances not withstanding - what use will she make of this time? Fade away and radiate out of the disparaging news media, to come back with a vengeance and a clear mission in the next election, after having built up various connections and political cohorts -- or else is this a big mistake all together?

She is still very popular with Republicans. 71% of them say she'd get their vote for prez. Did you see that Time cover article? For those of you who didn't, "RENEGADE" is right under Palin, who stands staring off some kind of lonely dock. I think they were trying to drive home that she's gonna do things her way. (Quite obviously.)

I like the way Maureen Dowd put it:

"Caribou Barbie is one nutty puppy."

And Obama's secret service codename is Renegade, am I right? She can't be Renegade also. Anyway, I know four years is a long time in any political climate, but it's easier to run for president when you already have a job. And, honestly, I'd be thrilled if the Repubs picked her as their nominee, because President Obama would wipe the floor with her. Period.

She said today she's going to be campaigning for Democrats too, if she likes what they stand for.

i didnt read the whole article but if its basically > Sarah Palin's Resignation than that is good news, alwayz did find her annoying *wink wink*

Enough said.

Speaking of Caribou,

I like James Wolcott's description of Sarah Palin as "Margaret Thatcher with moose antlers." I particularly enjoy the moose bit-- for two reasons "Number one: Moose have a regrettable tendency to wander along the roadside, and when a car approaches they panic, leave the shoulder, and run straight down the center of the road, oblivious to the fact that the care is both faster and stronger than they are. Number two: Although moose often have long legs and an impressive rack, their communication skills leave a lot to be desired, which makes them well suited to a solitary life in the bush, but somewhat awkward in urban settings, where logic and complete sentences are required."

tee hee.

Thatcher was an elderstateswoman of Britain before she was ever Prime Minister. She was horrible, but qualified. There is no comparison except the heartless conservative politics they share.

Dude it's unfair I understand, I was more into the moose bit.

And thanks I like your face, it reminds me a lot of my cat! Who I lovee dearly.
