well i have made threads about Rugby,F1 and other sports in the past but i dont think i even got 1 response in any of them.

The problem with the Sports forum here is that its mostly focused on football. Maybe a bit of basketball. But if not everything else is mostly ignored or almost not discussed. So it's hard to have nominees for each sports or nominees that discuss a multitude of sports.

There are not many sports heads except football and basketball. For example I like martial arts but nobody wants to discuss it here.

^^thats true. i like a lot of sports. Football/Soccer is my favorite. I love hurling as well but im not gonna get many people to post on that around here lol. and no one is really interested in Rugby or F1 either. Sports like Basketball and Football/Soccer are very popular so naturally more people will want to discuss them.
