Hip Hop pure again?

#1
With artists like Charles Hamilton, Drake, 88-Keys, Little Brother, Kanye West, Foreign Exchange, Kid Cudi, Lupe Fiasco, Murs, Kidz In The Hall, Jay Electronica, Blu, Exile, Elzhi, Black Milk, Wale, Mic Terror and more, it seems like Hip-hop is going back to the essence again? What do you think? I for one am glad to see this as this is my favorite form of the music. So, what I'm saying is, do you think the artistic integrity in Hip-Hop is coming back?

All I've noticed so far is that music labels are moving away from the gangsta rap formula into this "I'm not gangsta but I can steal your girlfriend because my shoes are fresh" formula. A lot of these new cats are too green and they've been picked up by labels too early. Charles Hamilton has potential but he's so green and unfortunately I haven't seen him progress with all these mixtapes. However, I haven't peeped "Well Isnt This Awkward" yet.

What exactly do you mean by essence though?

Artistic Integrity is like spitting tight rhymes over a tight beat and timelessly moving people?

By your definition, I think it's had it's purity before.

yeah, it's great to see the independent scene being flooded and talented, street-vetted cats like ti, lil wayne, and jeezy dictating the popular landscape as well.
