Carmi since you're asking why it was closed, why don't you tell me what the discussion was about (not "the pill", that's merely the topic)? Because you need a discussion to start a thread, not just a subject matter (ie: "The Pill": What are your thoughts on it?)
It was either a conspiracy theory about the government controlling the population or the government interfering with our biology.

Posts dissing other people: 7
"Freeposts": 4
Posts about the pill's pollution: 4
Any post that deals with "the pill" but not the thread: 8
Posts that replied to 1/2 of Yeshua's vague line of discussion: 1 ("if the government introduced them to control the population.. why are they optional? ")

So 1/24 posts actually relate to the thread. And no one, including the threadmaker, replied to that post. I still don't know what exactly he's asking and looking at the replies I can see that no one else (exceptvg4030) knew either. I couldn't imagine anything else coming from this thread and I still can't (except more beef).

That's why I closed it. Explaining why I was wrong is more than welcome (no sarcasm).

Meh, your'e right.

I guess since Yeshua opened a thread with a simple, one liner it sort of threw all of us off, and we kind of just said what was on our mind, apart from about one member.

Now this is something worth discussing. If people think the board is so inactive it's actually counter-productive to close any thread (with a few exceptions) then lets discuss that. I think it would make Caesar's job easier as well. But to be honest Carmi, you're not helping at all. I've seen you complain often but never have I seen you give an argument that extends beyond a single sentence.

If the posts are off topic or offensive, delete them, thats what that function is there for. By closing threads you are denying the entire board their RIGHT to discuss the topic, and that my friends is WORSE than what they are doing.

In most instances Mods have closed threads based on their opinions of the threads.

Being a Mod doesn't give any one the right to go Gestapo (no racism intended). You're job is to Moderate to make sure post and threads are in line with forum rules. Like I have said many times, your opinion is YOUR opinion, it is not law, and you have no right to force it on others, especially when you have Mod powers.

I'm a Mod here and I have never once slung my authority round like I'm God. Caeser is God, Rukas is God, SicC is God. Mods are not.

What I said is not hard to do either, and it would save alot less hassle in the future.

I would like to give praise to SiGh at this point, he seems to be the only Mod who understands this. Keep up the good work.
