i won't say so much. i'm not a part of this at all. i made that one thread where i bitched about how a lot of people have been bitching lately about offensive posts. but i got nowhere with that cause after came the reign of terror. (lawl, just janking your chain there.) anyway, i sorta liked what salty said.
i like the idea that instead of closing discussions where people might want to get a word in, delete posts that go over the line whether it's beef or offensive slur. keep the threads open. i know that i've wanted to comment on threads a lot of times to find them closed. closing a thread should be reserved for when it's unsalvagable. alternatively, closing it and making a new thread with the same subject but advising users to behave this time around is an option. i have seen this practiced on a lot of forums, and it reminds me of how hitemup was run once upon a time. some things i remember were, soft delete threads but NEVER fully delete them, same with posts (for the sake of archiving and if questions should arise in an ensuing discussion), and keep discussions clean. it's like an honor code. because this is a public outlet that is supposed to provide us freedom etc etc etc. when threads are being closed and deleted and question threads are being made, you take on a more active role in what you're doing. with a different approach, you're more in the shadows just making everything run smoothly. those are the guys that win the most underrated mod award come tb awards season.
that's just how i feel about things. that said, i don't necessarily disagree with what Chronic did at all. i have nothing against the guy, but not all of Yeshua's threads hit the nail on the head if you know what i mean.
