I thought it was a great film.

Granted, I don't think the numerous make-out scenes were necessary but that's just the hetero in me.

Awesome performance by Sean Penn. Terrific actor. Josh Brolin was really good too.

You should see it. It's a film with contemporary significance, especially with Proposition 8 passing in California this last month.

I don't think 'the hetero in me' could bring myself to watch this movie...

I never watched Brokeback Mountain, and maybe I'm prejudice but I just don't wanna see a movie about gay couples, or anything gay. The closest I have been to watching a gay movie was Will Ferrel and Sascha Baron Covich [i know, sp] kissing in Talladega Nights.

I didn't watch Brokeback Mountain either, because I felt there's no reason for me to watch a love story about two gay men.

But, I watched Philadelphia and I watched Milk. They're not gay love stories.

theyre like... gay pride movies, right?
that isnt any of my concern. if someone is gay i dont think any less of them. i have gay friends. but i wouldnt watch a movie about mexican pride, seeing as im not mexican. i think the same concept applies

Brokeback mountain was utter bullshit. It shouldn't have won for anything.

Take any love story with infidelity, and it's the same as Brokeback, just without the fudge packers.

The only thing that was decent about the movie, were the views of the mountains, planes, etc ... IE: The cinematography.

Oh, there's a lot more there folks - you must have been distracted by the mountains and spit lube. Ledger's performance, anybody? I can't see how any fair minded mature person could watch that film until the end and call it bullshit. With Ledger's face on the screen at the end, seeing the emotion on his face - you would at least develop a lump in your throat if you engaged in the story and characters.

Brokeback is a great LOVE STORY on film.

OH, and yeah, Milk is good too.

^ Aside from the joke, Brokeback deals with the shame of being a homosexual. I guess gay people took some sort of pride or whatever by watching it, I'll give you that. At the same time, too many people are dismissing the artistic value of it.

It's like saying Dark Knight is nothing but a movie about a guy in a rubber suit chasing a homicidal clown.
