No. Because a lot of the things you "can be" require more than a ungodly amount of motivation. One can want all they can, but sometimes shit isn't going to happen.
"time will heal all wounds"
especially if said to someone who's just lost a family member or friend.
So if someone is a lazy ass they can't be what they want. Yup. You can be whatever you want, you just gotta be willing to put in the work to get there.
What about blind children wanting to become pilots?
It only takes one valid example to swoop the "be all you want to be" bullshit off the table.
What about blind children wanting to become pilots?
Thats like saying what about all those people who wanna breath in space w/o a space suit. Or what about those people who wanna be olympic sprinters but are paralyzed. Or wait, what about those people who wanna fly but don't have wings
Obviously there are exceptions but for the most part its still true.
Yeah really, I read that you have a better chance of hitting the Jackpot Lottery for $50 million than you would making it in professional sports.
"the proof is in the pudding"
"piece of cake"
"its all gravy"
"bad egg"
"you can't make an omelette without breaking eggs"
"know your onions"
"couch potato"
"an apple a day keeps the doctor away"
"a nickle will will get you on the bus, but garlic will get you a seat"
"keen as mustard"
"nutty as fruitcake"
grace said over salad: "lettuce pray"
OK, all this cliche-badgering is starting to piss me off so I'll state the obvious which you guys clearly don't understand.
The cliche you guys are arguing about is used as a MOTIVATIONAL TOOL, not meant to bear a universal truth. Cliches vary in terms of what they mean to portray but this specific cliche you guys are arguing about is not meant to represent truth.
Duke, I can't believe you're even engaging in this stupid argument.
