Kanye West - Robocop

The album is being given mics based on whether it is hot or not. Him saying "I dont give a fuck if its hot or not" doesnt excuse him from reviews or critics.
Critics are allowed to judge the album, but he brushes it off because you can't tell HIM that Coldest Winter sucks if he dedicated it to his grandmother. And if you think you can, the quote I used says that he doesn't give a fuck.

Im sure as hell that if everyone comes out and says "Oh Kanye it is so dope!" and he wins a Grammy for it he wont turn around and say "I refuse to accept this award because I dont give a fuck if it's hot or not, its from the heart! So I dont want you giving me 5 mics or awards!"
You're implying here that he would be a hypocrite to accept the award. That is not so. I used the quote to point out that he's making the album because he thinks using auto-tune is fun and he's using it to express himself. Most tracks deal with his past relationship(s) and Coldest Winter is dedicated to his grandmother. Critics are allowed to judge the album, but the quote means that the album comes from the heart.

What if a grandma, who loves her grandchild, physically abuses them, out of love? Should you judge her then? Of course, you're not going to say "oh I cant judge her love."
He just meant that he thinks it's fucked up for people to say a song like Coldest Winter is wack if it's dedicated to his grandma. You have to understand the perspective of the author here.

That is just total bullshit. If it is out of love give it away for free, dont sell it, or at least if you're going to knock criticism then dont accept praise, awards or sales plaques.
The CD is not out of love for the fans, but to express his emotions.

As for everything else you said, pop album, rap album, rnb album, it doesnt excuse the fact the songs just sound baaaad.
That's fine, to each his/her own.

If you dont want me to compare Kanye to 50 who can I compare him to? This sounds worse than the recent Eminem leaks. This sounds worse than the recent Jay Z leaks. What am I allowed to compare to? I picked 50 Cent because they started the comparison, and this will go down as round 2 considering they are releasing around the same time.
Get Up is a wack attempt at a club song. It conveys no emotion, no heart, it has no real aim besides garnering money and getting girls to dance.

The Kanye tracks that leaked deal with love, emotions, expression, and dedication to his grandmother.

Therefore, I don't think the two should be compared.

I don't think Transformers the movie and Schindler's List should be compared. The purpose of the two films drastically differs.

This is a rare occasion where I actually agree with S O F I.

Hell no, fiddy's tracks bumps hard. Its a lead single and its supposed to be hyped. Ive already heard it in a club last weekend and damn it got people up - purpose of the track was to get you off your feet and it did that fo' sure. Ive visited various fan boards etc and there seems to be the same general vibe towards it. Kanye is trying something totally different and ye the 2 cant be compared. But if i wanna hear a track with emotion i'll bump 2pac cuz i knew about his struggle and his overall up-bringing. Kanye is a hit-maker and nothing more. Nothing about his history appeals me to his music. And to me where you come from is what makes you - fiddy's got history behind his music. Not the same as 'Pacs but its poignant regardless. I aint saying "Fuck Kanye" cuz he aint done nothing to deserve any hate.

If Kanye and 50's current material is indicative of the state of commercial hip-hop in 2008, then we are in a fucking code red crisis for sure.

I agree with Rukas. No matter what the song is about or who it is for, it is a song, a song he put out to get attention for his album to get album sales and therefore it is open to any and all criticism. I actually like the song, but Kanye cant stand there and tell music critics and fans they arent allowed to form an opinion of the song based on it's musical merits.

Some people dont like it, and they are allowed to have their opinion. Some people do like it, and they are allowed their opinion.

Kanye has so many opinions about everything he should be the last person to tell people they cant judge something anyway.

Message aside, it is a piece of music, and so people have every right to judge it as such.

I actually like it and Robocop though.

I think this song is wack as fuck. Jesus.

Didn't Kanye say this next album was gonna be gangsta? I specifically remember he said that.

Read what it says properly, he was talking about 50's album when he said gangsta album of the year. Y'all hear one thing and say another... .. . No wonder half the internet is full of bullshit rumours and mis-quoted arguments.

^And you're responsible for mis-quoted arguments too. He said it will be a "gangster's album of the year". Meaning gangsters will like it. When he mentioned 50, he merely said in jest that it's going to be 50 cent's favorite album.

"I guarantee this will be 50’s favorite album of mine. This will be gangster’s album of the year.”

He was talking about fiddy's album. Just admit when your wrong, no need to be embarrassed -
