* 3-6 make video game beats. That's their secret. Subtract the drums and the bass and tell me I'm lying. 16-bit RPGs and action-adventure titles, to be specific. The shit would fit in Chrono Trigger or Legend of Zelda and you cannot convince me otherwise.

* Has the Wire improved fake gangsters' depictions of the thug life?

* Speaking of which, I have a great idea for a b-more club track. If only I knew how to make beats.

* Why is G Rap so slept on? He's more active than many of his contemporaries, yet even Biz Markie and Masta Ace get more love than him.

* 93 til Infinity

The Chronic
The Cold Vein
Death Certificate
Doggystyle
The Great Adventures of Slick Rick
Hell Hath No Fury
I'll Sleep When You're Dead
The Low End Theory
Liquid Swords

Operation Doomsday

A Piece of Strange
Ridin Dirty

* What happened to Tonedeff? Anyone have his Champions freestyle?

* Ditto for Young Chris. Imagine how boring Jay-Z would've gotten if not for State Property

* Does anyone know rapping better than Project Blowed?

Give an example of a track like this? I have never thought about their beats that way.

I don't know. G Rap seems to get a good deal of respect from most people. Then there's the other idiots who look at him as just an "old rapper". But to anyone who knows what they're talking about, G Rap is a legend. He's one of the best rappers ever.

I got that Tonedeff freestyle if you want it. I've listened to him for a long time now. Although I don't keep up with him any more. Haven't for a while.

G Rap is in my Top 5 Dead Or Alive and has been for many years. You can't fuck with him.

best video game beat i ever heard is jim ones "on my way up" from his first album. as soon as i heard it it reminded me of that one level on either sonic 2 or 3.. the last level on the plane. in fact, those sega megadrive sonic games were packed with sick beats from what i remember.

Yeah, totally. Hood Star is straight out of after-plot-twist-happy-refreshing tune off Chrono Trigger.
