Soulja Boy Killed Hiphop

#21
hip hop died when tupac died....

nah real talk, souja boy is just another rapper, just like in teh 90's when there were "other rappers" that nobody remembers, but they still made their money....

in 10 years we'll laugh when we hear superman on the radio, then put in our headphones and listen to the Nas Nigger tape....

that shit is straight dissrespectful... Soulja boys shit is garbage, how can anyone defend that shit. Watching that video just made me hate the dude even more.. he doesn't deserve any fame or money.. and the 2 lame as thugtards behind him just sit there looking tough like they protecting soulja boy or something.. if you're standing behind a lame ass like that, you must really suck... for real.

your right man soulja boy is uneducated he will never be on Ice-t's level. what a dumb fucker come up with them lame ass jokes, *what kind of name is ice-t anyway he should be called lemonade.*

soulja boy and the two retards from the video ever came face to face with the man. they'd shit their pants. you know soulja boy jerks off to coco's pictures.

soulja boy needs to study what hiphop is about. the dumb ass on video disrespectin the old school. *nobody wanna hear that old shit unless they about to die*. WTF???

i watched the ice-t response back to soulja boy. Thats real talk right there. i hope he destroys him. who cares if ice-t told him eat a dick. soulja boy is 17 his dumb ass is gonna be an adult next year. i could see if Ice-t said it to a 12 yr old then i would say thats wrong.

i understand people like that superman shit, they go out and buy the albums. he got rich and famous for a reason. (if their were two choices of music left in this world...soulja boys shit and country music i would buy country in a heartbeat).

get your shit right soulja boy ice-t make a song called fuck the police. you ignorant dumb ass it was cop killer. and he goes and does law and order. SO WHAT!!! thats called growing up and being mature. you done everything you wanted to do. Ice Cube was wrong for making movies??? i bet young thug wannabes ridiculed Pac when he made gang related. here goes Pac rappin about hating cops and then he plays one. Pac wanted to pursue other careers.

hip hop did die way before soulja boy. he's got a lot of growing up to do. hopefully later on down the road soulja boy will wise up and get a college education.

he wasnt disrespecting the old school. he gave ice-t his props and said he respected what he did

secondly, Souljah Boy is CLEARLY not intending to be a hip hop conniseur (sp?). he's making music for kids to bop and dance to - nothing serious.

if ice-t honestly thinks that souljah boy on his own is enough to destroy an entire genre and culture, then ice-t been smoking that hash way too much in his younger days. i mean, look at the calibre of shit thats popping out these days! souljah boy, in the grand scheme of things, is fucking nothing. so why focus all this bullshit hate on him?

and telling a 17 year old to suck a dick? please, thats just pathetic.

Hip-Hop is dead has got to be the best and worst phrase ever. When people look at it and question what they put out or buy and listen to it's cool. But when people are like Hip-Hop is dead everything sucks blah blah blah.... it gets so redundant and stupid.

I'm just gonna go listen to Masta Ace and his Slaughtahouse album and think, "damn, does this mean Hip-Hop has always been dead?"

ICE-T responds

it's labelled ice-t's apology but he only apologizes for telling a 17 yr old to eat a dick.. then goes on to talk about soulja's music being garbage and that he doesn't even try like half the other new artists out etc.. that's it's not about old school, new school cause Ice loves alot of new rappers, but that they try to come up with something great while soulja just makes garbage to get some money. He also talks about how soulja's response can't hurt ICe because he doesn't have to write another rap ever while soulja is just living off his 15 minutes of fame money.. and that taking on an OG will most likely have repercussions in the form of more people supporting ICE then soulja. then he ends with his 16 year old kid telling soulja to eat a dick..lol

Basically Ice hit the fucking nail on the head with everything he said... this is far from an apology, just a more thought out diss..lol

He came from the hood, made his own beats, made up a new saying, new sound and a new dance with one song. He had all of America rapping this summer. If that ain't Hip Hop then what is?
The thing is, rappers can do all of that and make money while making music that last for more than a year. That is what the other side is trying to say.

[edit]I said the same thing Kanye's saying about J-Kwon and Tipsy and we all know what happened there.

If Hip Hop music was a woman - I'm not looking for a random meaningless fuck

When Ice-t came to my school he had a very good point. In his opinion, the main difference between todays hip hop and that of the 80's/early 90's was this:

Back then if someone like Gangstarr or Rakim or Slick Rick or Pac or Big Daddy Kane were walking down your street you'd be standing there saluting them, giving them their props. People listened to them because they made music that could touch you on an everyday level. Now a days rap is much more mainstream and when you're average everday listener hears a song all they say is it has a good beat, I like it! If someone like Kanye or Flo Rida were walking down the street all the little girls would coming running asking for an autograph.

Haha, Ice's son owned soulja boy! LOL. But regardless if he told em to eat a dick, im on Ice T's side. Soulja Boy (with a name like dat, im still trying to find out what this "soulja" is finding for) didn't have to put in a lot of effort to make this one, two hits. When me and my homies write songs, we sit down with a pen and a pad and write well thought out lyrics, for multiple subjects I might add. I read thru Sissy boys lyrics and it basically looked like a 3rd grader in a slow class ghost writes for him. And so what if it did sell like hotcakes. The media gives the public all that bullshit, and unfortunately for the real hip hop fans, the fools knowing nothin about hip hop danced to that shit. Pop music shit. I listen to a lot of my 90's westcoast daily, and whenever I get in the car with my other homies, I feel like I stepped into another world.

Everybody complains that what Soulja Boy does is so simple and whatever but come on he does it well and he is 17, hes a kid, he's making music for kids from a kids perspective.
