Lil Wayne Not Suing Over Mixtapes & Leaks

After DJ's became outraged over "fuck mixtape DJ" comments by Lil Wayne last week, following his apology, talk of Weezy leaked material has been the topic of much discussion.

However, Cash Money Records' label boss, Ronald "Slim" Williams, isn't worried about it, and plans to take no legal action. This comes after DJ Empire was outted by Weezy for releasing a slew of un-authorized material, and DJ Chuck T taking responsibility for the early leak of Wayne's new album, Tha Carter III.

"It'll cost more for me to sue him and it's not worth it," Williams told Billboard.com, regarding Empire's popular The Drought Is Over mixtape series. Although Cash Money isn't planning any action, they admit that the leak of unreleased material is "frustrating," so they are now negotiating with Empire.

"Wayne has spoken to him, so I don't know what's going on with that," explained Williams. "I think Empire said he has more music to put out. Most DJ's are just local, so they're not making that much money anyway." Despite leaks, the label isn't concerned with it affecting sales of Tha Carter III, which hits stores on Tuesday (June 10).

Instead, they are expecting sales of more than a million, a number not normal in today's music climate. "People will still buy the record. I've been telling Universal that I don't want nothing under 1 million sold in the first week. We're shipping like 1.6 million copies, but if it comes in under, I ain't complaining," Williams tells Billboard.com.

Tha Carter III's next single is the Play-N-Skillz' produced "Get Money" featuring T-Pain. Wayne plans to shoot a video for the track within the next two weeks.

I have a hard time seeing this album breaking a million or even coming close to it, especially these days. Not even Kanye did a million, or even 50 Cent, and I'd say both of them had a lot more hype around the album than Lil Wayne.

Let's not forget about when Game expected Doctor's Advocate to break a million but it didn't even break 400,000. And I'd say that One Blood had A LOT more airplay than Lollipop.

I always thought that the Drought mixtape series was somewhat official... Hmm..
Don't mistake the Drought series with The Drought is Over. The drought series were with no dj, just Weezy and jacked beats. The Drought is over is the shit Empire puts out.

Another reason why I don't see this CD selling like crazy is because of all of those mixtapes. Anybody who was a Lil Wayne fan has had their Lil Wayne fix for months thanks to all of his random songs and probably already found Carter III.

also, lil wayne never will compare to tupac or big either.

every one of tupacs songs has heart and realness in it, and every one of lil waynes songs is about lickin lolli pops or being a fireman.

man fuck rap music today

basically teh same as joshb654,

everyone loves lil wayne, but why? his raps are truely without flow, his songs virtually have no point, its whatever rhymes i guess.

heres somethin from 'a millie' or whatever that shit is called.

"A million here a million there
Sicilian bitch with long hair
Wit coke in the derriere
Like smokin the thinest air
I open the lamborgini hopin' them crackers see me
Like look at that bastard weezy"

now tell me this, how do you go from talkin about a million dollars, to talking about a sicilian bitch taht he doesnt have, to talking about cocaine in the ass, to talking about smoking, to talkin about crackers seeing hoppin out of a car?

it really makes no sense whatsoever, and why people, black or white, think he really is the best rapper alive, is way beyond my knowledge.

now, tupac, that was a real rapper, he didnt rap about the money or bitches that he had or the cars he had, he rapped about the struggles, he rapped about getting out of the hood and respecting women and females, instead of rapping about making millions of dollars and fucking a bitch in every damn song he made.

and, the song 'lollipop', didnt someone else already make an even better rap song about that subject?

oh yea, a real rapper named TRICK DADDY.
