I just came across this shit. I know enough heads on here dig Budden, and Portishead is dope as well. Ill Poetic, for those that don't know, are missing some ridiculous shit.. here it is...

I know you're a big fan and I respect your musical taste so I'll be straight up.

It's mainly his voice. I find his vocal tone irritating. While I think he is good all around rapper with a decent flow, decent lyrics and decent songwriting ability, I don't find him to be exceptional at anything in particular, which doesn't make him really stand out from 100 other rappers, to my ears.

With all that said though, I'll readily admit I haven't heard a great deal of his material, and there's every possibility that what I have heard, you would tell me are his weakest tracks.

And given that I like Portishead, I'll download this mixtape and give Budden another chance. If I can get past his voice, and this tape is an example of solid Budden material, there's every chance I'll be converted by it

It's cause I didn't know great he was at one time until I took the time to get his better tracks from people telling me he's dope.

What if I upload some tracks for you? Is that cool? I'm not gonna force you to listen. You like who you like and that's cool. But if you're willing to listen to what I upload, i'll give it a shot. But be prepared, it's gonna be 15-20 tracks.

The mix was alright... Nothing too special, but better than alot of remixed albums i've heard. What did others think of it? I never really heard the original Budden album, so I cant say if its better or not. One thing I can say is I like the Portishead originals waaaayy better.

And yea, Linx, hook up a "Best of Budden mix", I've listened to him here and there, but never was able to really get into him, so lets see what he's got to offer.
