I have always found that racism, along with one's vocabulary, is the greatest sign that indicates one is uneducated and stupid.

I always stress the importance of education because I believe it is imperative. We have so many morons in our society and most of them don't even have high school educations, must less college educations. How can we have a functional society when all these people don't know a fucking thing?

It needs to change. It needs to be mandatory that everyone attends college.

Education is critical. The idea behind racism can be eradicated very simply if these idiots knew anything.

Human beings adapt and evolve just like every other living creature. Despite what the brainwashed and deluded religious right will tell you, homo sapiens evolve just like everything else. People in Africa had to develop a darker skin tone due to the immense heat of the climate. That's all it was. That's why we have black people.

Eventually, humans will no longer have a pinky toe. It's just irrelevant now that most of us wear shoes.

But half of Americans can't find Iraq on a map much less talk about these things. And that's why people hold such ignorant and retarded views.

Pisses me the fuck off.

what is the point though of making college mandatory when you will have kids in the class who don't care for school. im not sure what its like in the USA but down here the norm is going to class to socialize and only a few people go to actually learn, and those ones that wanted to learn go to collage while the rest of us go and get a trade or another full time job, or sit around and do nothing all day like micka.

Racism, and I am using the term very loosely, often has very deep roots and a strong foundation. When that is the case, it blurs the line between "right" and "wrong" thinking. There's a plethora of intelligent, "racist" people. Intelligence doesn't always overpower strong emotions, just look at crimes in the heat of passion. I think the strongest opponents of racism are White Americans and I think it's obvious why. You guys have it easy. There were no blurred lines, no partial blame. It was clear who the bad guy was. In other parts of the world, the lines are blurred.

I see you've met my good friend common sense.

You whiteys developed white skin when people left Africa and started going north. Lack of sun light yadda yadda. Don't get it twisted.

please elaborate.

please elaborate.

The ethnic conflict in Bosnia in the early 90s, the ethnic conflict in Rwanda in the early 90s, and the ongoing conflict between Israel and Palestine are examples of conflicts where a majority on both sides developed strong resentment towards the other group. When I said I'd use racism loosely, in this case it'd be synonymous with resentment. The conflicts that erupted stem from decades-long, and in my case, century-long hate. In these conflicts, people truly believe that their hate is justified. There is no room for "intelligence" to destroy those feelings. Those feelings are just as real as anything learned and observed. It's only if you escape from the environment that you can truly change up your perspective or if you're brought up in an environment that preaches compassion and understanding.

If you can't make a person stop being stubborn, you can't make them stop being racist. That's usually the case. Do you think an intelligent person can stop being stubborn? It's embedded.

S O F I speaks the truth.

Also black people don't have dark skin to combat climate, saying that means that all black people who live in a cold climate will eventually turn white because they dont need to be black any more. Black people are black through genetic make up, the same with any ethnical race.

But that genetic make up is a result of natural selection, which favored dark skin in Africa because of the climate. That's why people get progressively darker the closer you get to the equator.

Not to get hung up on evolution, but not having a pinky toe isn't an evolutionary advantage, you're not more likely to pass on your genetic material if you don't have a pinky. In fact, in terms of sexual selection, you might have less of a chance. People might think the lack of a pinky is a turn-off.

The appendix would have been a better example, since having an appendix can be harmful.

I agree with this post 100% I remember not reading your posts much before but now I look forward to reading what you have to say. I have been agreeing with you a lot lately, I keep trying to rep you but I can't. :(

Also, I think fear has a BIG part to play in racism. People are scared of the unknown, of what's different of losing themselves in the new development of someone else.

I can't tell you how many White Americans I interact with who feel as if they are losing their cultures to minorities. Matter of fact, most people I've spoken with (in class, work, etc) who dislike Mexicans (due to the immigration thing here in the States) are scared that their culture is overpowering the culture of White America. The Mexican population is growing at alarming rates here in Chicago, thousands of Mexican restaurants, most places you have to be bilingual to work there and people are scared. They don't want their life to change because they enjoy it.

And honestly, being a minority myself, I still understand where they're coming from. If I went home to the Dominican Republic and found thousands of Americans there building starbucks and tanning salons, I'd be pissed. And scared that the Dominican culture would die soon. It would very possibly lead to racist feelings as well. So yeah, fear has a big thing to do with it. Which goes along with the emotions that SOFI was talking about.

The worst thing about the Mexican situation is when I hear Americans complaining about their Spanish. "Lawl like pretty soon with all teh immigrants we'll all be speaking the spanish!" WHY THE FUCK DO YOU THINK THEY SPEAK SPANISH IN THE FIRST PLACE?

They seem to get very angry..... :(

According to Euphanasia, education is the solution to everything.

There's probably some truth to it, but it seems naive to imply that going to college will solve racial prejudice.

he does have a point about education, but the climate thing is wack, i mean come on, they are fucking loads of countries on the equator that are not black. tanned maybe, but not black. I'll have to find my book on ethnics and dna.

Education can help and therefore no one should go to college. That's not a place you can get an education.

People in Africa had to develop a darker skin tone due to the immense heat of the climate. That's all it was. That's why we have black people.
I see you've been to college. :p
