Of course it's growing on people more.. cause it's a good song! I remember back when Akon was blowing up and I couldn't really stand dude. Then I heard him on a few Hip Hop songs and thought he KILLED the hooks. The "I Tried" Bone Thugs song and the "Never Forget Me" song as well. Now this. He can do some ill hooks, but i'm not always gonna like him. This song to me is ill though. Dope beat, Crooked I comes nice like always and Akon is on point. Is it a GREAT song? No, but I like it alot.

Co-signed. Akon is the fucking man for hooks. He's the new Nate Dogg so to speak. Beat is dope and Crooked rips it.

By the way, Crook says I dream you dream, we all dream big dreams. Not big things.

Let's be rational here. The song isn't going anywhere. The hook is not good enough for an Akon hook and the beat is not good enough for any mainstream appeal and radio play. Plus, Crooked I's style on this track just isn't going to cut it.

Will the song be big and go anywhere? I doubt it. I think the hook is good, but that's my personal opinion. Great? No, but I like it alot. The beat sounds dope imo. Overall I think it's a good song. Crooked I is so much better than the dudes that get heavy radio play. It won't get played heavily cause it ain't some catchy bullshit.

Crook definitely comes through with this joint as he always does. So thats not an issue. The problem with the joint is is it good enough to make it big hit?

Sorry to burst your bubble but you liking this song doesn't mean shit to Crooked, who obviously wants to be big and go anywhere, hence why he has Akon on the track. If it was catchy, it'd be a good song, like most classics spanning all music genres are.

I completely agree that Crooked is better than most dudes with heavy radio play, but it doesn't help. Tupac was a great rapper and still knew how to make catchy songs while remaining tight. Crooked doesn't know, he's too nerdy.

Obviously me liking it doesn't mean shit to him. It would be a good song if it was catchy? Why? That's stupid to say. I don't think Pac really made catchy songs. I think he just made some songs saying what people wanted to hear. I think alot of people liked him because he seemed like a rebellious, angry "I don't give a fuck" kind of dude.

Too nerdy? Dude Lupe Fiasco is NERDY. Kanye is nerdy.

If a song is catchy, it has replay value. Songs with replay value are good because they make you want to listen to them more. It's that simple. A lot of people listened to his music because he had top-notch production and just fantastic hooks. He understood music making. But, what you said also plays a huge part, too.

You have a very poor understanding of "catchy". I don't mean "laffy taffy" catchy or "yummy yummy yummy I got love in my tummy". Catchy doesn't have to be bubblegum pop. I mean like all of Tupac's hits, all of DMX hits, all of Eminem hits, all of Jay-Z hits. They were all catchy.

Too nerdy? Dude Lupe Fiasco is NERDY. Kanye is nerdy.
Crooked I is nerdy in an unconventional manner. He writes down gangsta bravado lyrics in such a way that they're not cool. He should study Young Jeezy and Rick Ross a bit to get the coolness factor going.

I didn't say it, I wrote it. It was mainly said in jest anyway, directly for linx.
Haha, whatever. Crook is one of my favorite MCs ever, but the reason he'll probably never sell is that he isn't very good at switching up his vocal tone. His delivery is aggressive and his voice can be somewhat abrasive to the ears, which tends to turn some listeners off, especially women. Chicks dig rappers that either have smooth voices or a really melodic flow, two things crooked doesn't really do. He's got great flow rhythmically, it's just not very melodic. So because he'll always have a hard time courting female listeners, he'll always lack mass appeal, and he'll probably never get popular.

That being said, there's nothing about Crooked's style or content I'd ever want him to change. Hopefully he'll stay independent and realize that his music will be much better if he isn't so concerned with "blowing up."

And oh yeah, Dream Big is fuckin awesome, I can't understand how so many of you could dislike it. Sick lyrics, solid beat, and even Akon comes nice on the hook. I feel like a lot of you are just disappointed that Crooked chose to do a song with Akon. If y'all can get past the fact that he's obviously just trying to get some exposure, the song will probably grow on a lot of you. Just take it for what it is: a pretty damn good song.

I think its just wierd how he would put this out when The Game has Big Dreams. and how they both kinda use the westcoast to their advantage
Thats the problem they DONT use the westcoast to their advantage and end up going with east coast or down south producers or artists in hopes of hitting the mainstream fanbase. If they really wanted to bring the westcoast back up they would get their own westcoast producers with the REAL westcoast sound and come out with some gangsta shit instead of trying to imitate the sound and bullshit that gets played on the radio these dayz.
