I cant remember the last time a crew really blew up. I mean, G-Unit was always more of a 50 Cent featuring G-Unit type deal. Where are out modern day Wu Tangs?

I think modern crews are perceived more like boysbands.
Take dipset or g-unit as examples. Everybody laughed at them.
It's enough to have 1 weak link to get dissed hard.
Also I think in modern times it's more about being a solo star, a hero for kids, a role model etc. Groups overall are less popular.

Well not everybody, but G-Unit with all their pop fads like hand gestures and clothing lines, and Dipset with their similar shit like with throwing the eagle sign, was sort of silly. Maybe not if you're used to killing people after throwing a gang sign, but most people probably thought it was stupid. Thus, the groups are associated with that stupidity and people jump on band-wagons instead of judging the music.
Regardless of what I think about some of Dipset's music, which I like, I also know that whenever I see some wigger boy dancing in a club he's normally dancing to G-Unit, Snoop, Pharell, Dipset, Young Jeezy, Lil Wayne, Souljah Boy, your typical pop fad artist who does more than just make music.
I think there's several explanations. One is that group acts have been around for a while, and we know there's usually internal conflicts and shit. Nobody wants that shit, so going solo is just easier, which is why I think a lot of people just do that without even considering anything else.
Take myself for example. If I were to ever become some superstar, I want to be the most super there is, not share the throne with some other dude. I want to be king, and if not I am content where I'm already at.
Untrue. Maybe the people you surround yourself with or some pseudo-underground hip hop message boards you visit have you thinking that. Overall, it's not the case.

Ermmm... That has nothing to do with fads or whatever but simply because that is all that clubs play. No club DJ is going to put on Aesop Rock. You just listed the top club hitters, so of course people of all color and style are going to dance to those tracks, thats what a club is for! If you aint having fun at a club you needa take your ass home.

SOFI you gotta understand though, Warsaw where he is at, is very much underground NY style type of thing. They're kind of hiphop is still Big L and early Nas or KRS-One.
Dipset is dope, their swagger is crazy, but you have to be able to "get" that life style to appreciate it in my opinion.
Yeah, that's what I keep thinking, and that's the impression Masta gives me when I see him praise certain rappers in this section. I just didn't want to say "Yeah that's cause you live in Poland" because I've said that to him like 5 times already and I'm trying to reduce my condescending remarks haha.
It's not just Poland, believe me, its everywhere. Here in Australia there is a huge rift between those types of underground heads and Hip-Hop/Urban fans; which explains ill-matic.
maybe we should ask outlawz about that....they still have so much potential...they need to go back and study their old style...all of them..get back together....rapping again like they used to with pac...and put out hit records with using expensive beats..not mainstream beats...but expensive ones like they did with pac
