And I don't understand how you think Nelly came "hard" with this bullshit, yet when I posted that Crooked I "Banger On My Lap" joint, you didn't like it much. THAT is coming hard. Nelly is whack.
I never said Crook didnt come hard, I just said the song wasnt good as an album cut and was boring. Big big difference.

Everybody knows that Crook could freestyle circles around Nelly, but this is a surprisingly good effort for him, and at the same time Nelly will create catchy singles around Crook.

Different sides of hip-hop man. Cant compare the two.

^I have to give him props for it because:

1. The song does not order me to do a specific dance
2. It does not use a vocoder/auto tune whatever.

This is kind of bothering me. Why does it seem like people are surprised Nelly could rap? People act like since he made some club/pop music he can't rap. He's the same dude from Free City and Da Derrty Versions. He's more versatile than what gets shown on the big stage.

I dont think Ive ever actually heard him RAP before though without going sing songy. Can you provide some track names I should check out?

Number One.

A fucking killer track. That track is so tight I don't listen to KRS because of it. OK, I'm lying, but you get the point.

Number 1 was dope. Beat was real nice, but still, the flow is sing songy unlike his freestyle. Im wondering if hes ever straight rapped.

One thing that really impresses me with Nelly is the fact that his recording process must be fucking HARD.

By the sounds of it he records his vocals and layers them about 7 times. Id guess 1 main one, two above pitch and two below pitch plus doubling certain words twice. And that is at MINIMUM. And he is so fucking tight when he does it, not tight dope, but tight that you cant tell theres more than one recording layered, every breath, every syllable, is spat the exact same way and time.

That is skill.

I wasn't trying to compare the 2. Everybody should know Crooked I is 10x better than Nelly. But you know how the music industry is. Nelly makes music and sells alot of records and Crooked I doesn't. All I was saying is when I posted that Crooked I track, you seemed to shrug it off, yet you made a post about Nelly coming hard when he really didin't.

Do I like Nelly? Not really. But i'm not gonna sit here and lie and say I don't like a FEW of his songs. There's quite a few people I don't like very much, but they may have a few songs I do like. Lil Wayne with BM JR for example.

Because Im used to Crook coming hard, and he hasnt done anything new, and that track was boring. Where as this was new for Nelly, and thus not boring.
