The West Coast come back...

Im actually starting to think that the west coast finally has a legitimate chance at a strong come back. Bishop Lamont, Cashis, Glasses Malone, are all dropping really good music and not just the generic west coast shit. Ya Boy and Crooked I are also doing their thing too but I think the other three have a bigger chance at blowing up right now.

Everybody has been talking about a West come back for a while now, and nothing really happened because it was always headed by independent artists (minus Game of course) who didnt really make much noise outside Cali and the internet. But I think this new breed of rappers really brings something good to HipHop music and the west.

young de and young dre, b-real and others too.
They are old.

I am talking about new rappers with a fresh sound and some major momentum behind them. Otherwise Id have mentioned Yukmouth, who in my opinion is better than all of the rappers you just mentioned.

The West hasn't gone anywhere. The problem is that all the radio plays is pure bullshit!
Of course. The west has been constantly releasing dope shit. I guess what I am saying is I really feel they have a chance now to regain this radio, video and media attention and thus really do south type numbers which not even NY has been doing (and in its current state doesnt deserve to).

Ill co-sign on ya boy and crooked, you can see the drive behind them with all their new freestyles and mixtapes... they hungry, and making their rounds promoting their shit, and most is quality stuff.

Lamont also has that fire, but we all know he is going to get pushed back by Aftermath for some other bullshit act e.g another G-Unit project.

Cashis and Malone... uhh, nah man Cashis flopped hard, and i am not really sure who Malone is other than he appeared a couple of times along side some Lamont tracks.

Yeah you are right. The only problem is that they gotta appeal to the younger audience to actually get airplay on the radio and on tv which also backfires because then they force themselves to sound like all the other bullshit out on the radio and in turn lose the westcoast sound all together. And then you also get the people (like Eric) saying that the westcoast sound is too played out and then in turn never even give the music a chance before they even listen to it.

How did Cashis flop? Malone just released a dope single and expensive video with Akon, which I expect to get heavy play, so theres my point exactly.

I agree. But I think it needs to be done. The Malone track for example while dope sounds like a Young Jeezy song. But at least it will bring some attention back to the West and Malone's other material.

I think Bishop will blow simply because he is all over Detox and I still have faith that that will be released one of these upcoming years.

I still think Game has one multi platinum album left in his fan base, I wish he would work harder at putting somebody else on though, but even if he would BWS is run like shit so they wouldnt get anywhere. He should have formed a super group or something when he had the chance.

Pac Div and Blu should see more light soon. I've been listenin to G Malone for a while, White Lighting still gets steady play, would be cool if he finally dropped his album. That Beach Cruiser advance or whatever it was was pretty good, I'm hoping something comes out eventually. Snoop, Quik, and Riley plan on releasing an album so that should get the Westcoast sound on the airwaves at least. Nowadays I can almost careless where someone is from, it's cool to find people from your neck of the woods or know people affiliated with someone you know but in this day and age I don't think it matters as much as it used to.
