THIS is how comics-turned-movies should be done. Even if it turns out to be a shit movie, thumbs up for the style. I really enjoyed the first one.

The promotion for this film is so innovative. I need to watch Batman Begins before I go see TDK. Yes, I still haven't seen BB...

And for ol' nostalgic sake, Batman 89 again.

i don't want to ruin your expectations by saying too much, but most people liked the new and i guess more "realistic" approach to it. i tried to read some old batman comics from the old comic series, but i didn't like them at all. i checked out some "alternative" batman comics that are in an alternate continuum just like these movies are different to the old ones. the new movies fit everything in those series so well.

the cop pic intrigued me, but not necessarily in a good way.

mythologically speaking, the joker's make-up is a permanent change in his biology caused when he fell into a chemical vat while escaping from Batman. at the time, he was a low-life bandit. seeing his own reflection in the mirror made him lose his mind, and that's where he developed the laughter. now the ONE story that heath was given to read for his role as the Joker was a comic release called "Batman: The Killing Joke". i'm not really a big comic book geek, i don't own any comic books sans a few donald duck and calvin and hobbes albums, but i have read that Batman comic. It's a great story, and you can really see a lot of similarities in the overall feel that heath brought to the Joker.

with all that said, i've heard (and seen in pictures) that his makeup appears as looking differently throughout the movie. i don't remember if it was fan speculation, a rumour or an actual fact, but supposedly he looks more and more fucked up throughout the movie, as if the make-up was an infection.

the movie will not give a story of origin for the joker. throughout the movie he will be featured as a "constant", he's just pure evil and knowing where he came from isn't relevant to the story. knowing all these things, i am wondering why he is seen without make-up. i am wondering why he wears make-up or what his justification for being a big clown is (it's established in the universal Batman mythology, but I want it established in the continuity that the new movies present). the story i presented above also justifies his obsession with Batman.

It's such a completely different take to the joker that even though I've been hyped for months, I'm starting to get a little scared. I know I won't be disappointed, I'm just bored right now. But the movie will have to address a few of those things to even make sense. Yes, I say that in the context of a movie featuring a man who dresses up like a bat to fight crime.

Did anyone look at the IMDB threads? There's like 10 pages already, and half is random off-topic shit. It's really weird.

What do you want them to talk about? There is just so much you can talk about a movie that hasn't been released yet.

^Well, how about not posting anything not forum-related? DUHHH.

Also, most boards aren't like that, only those for popular hollywood flicks.
