Fill me in on why people like this guy. Is it because Pac worked with him on a song or something? I never knew who he was, but i'm pretty sure that's why. If so, wtf?

It's because he sounds good, with our without 2Pac. He makes some good shit. He was signed to Death Row and while recording his album, he also recorded 25 tracks with Pac, some released, some unreleased.

StreetHop.com interviewed him and he hooked StreetHop up with an exclusive track off his upcoming album "Open Mic".

Click here to read the interview.

Clip sounds nice btw, I actually haven't heard this song. What is the source of the clip? What's the name of the song?

you're wrong.

danny boy was a singer on death row for years. i think he was around before pac signed. he didn't do a lot of solo work although he had an underground video or two. he didn't just work with tupac, he worked with a lot of people. on some songs i think his choruses are a little wack, but i'm gonna doubt that danny boy ever wrote his own hooks, so who is to blame for that really. either way, i like a lot of his choruses. he was like a nate dogg of sorts, only in a very different league. he could do good hooks, and imo his voice complimented most rappers he appeared on. when a rapper records a song and does his own choruses, by the end of the song some times you might be like "shut the fuck up already" and change to another artist. i can be like that anyway. i enjoy the concept of backup singers on choruses, but i also just want them on the choruses, no 1,5 minute singing portions to songs where the singers get "exposure". danny boy never did this except on "toss it up", normally he did the chorus and some backing "oooooohs" and "aaaaaahs" during verses and that was it. all in all, he was a good chorus singer to me.

i don't creat for his solo though. i'd love it for death row guest appearances (rbx, dre, lady of rage, 2pac, dpg, whoever) but that's it.

also, remember that when he worked with tupac he was 17 years old. you should respect that. you're what, in your 20s like me? where are we right now? furthermore, try to sing a song. he wasn't just some no name, he was an above-average but not very good singer who got lucky and if anything, the whole story is a little bit intriguing.

so there's a long post about why I like danny boy :)
