"Like You'll Never See Me Again"
is almost a note-for-note (although transposed a few keys) rip-off of the last 3 minutes of "Purple Rain". Nice try Alicia. First you cover a relatively obscure but classic Prince B-Side "How Come You Don't Call Me Anymore" in the hopes that people will think it's your own song......and then this? Poor show.
If it was just Prince, I wouldn't mind so much. But the list goes on with Alicia subtlely ripping off classic songs and wailing on them to try and get props.
"Fallin" for example, is ripped from James Brown's, "It's A Mans Mans Mans World".
"You Don't Know My Name"? Nothing more than The Main Ingredient's "Let Me Prove My Love To You"
"Slow Down" is "Summer Breeze" by The Isley Bros
"So Simple" is "Tonights The Night" by Betty Wright.
"If I Aint Got You" takes the structure of "Call Me" by Aretha Franklin.
"Unbreakable" is "Intimate Friends" by Eddie Kendricks...
"Lovin You"? - It's blatantly "Natural Woman" by Aretha.
the list goes on.
Alicia, you might be foolin everyone else....but us musicians and funkheads know what time it is.
