Person A enjoys listening to Lil Wayne and Joe Budden.

Person B enjoys listening to Joe Budden and not Lil Wayne.

Person A gets double the fun.

Think about it.

I listen to everything I can, if I like it or not. It's a knowledge thing not only a love for the music thing. Souljaboytellem.com and all. I don't knock, well I used to when I was stupid, others taste of music, or hate on an artist, I might say I dont like this or that but doing it constantly is pathetic. People hatin on shit and sayin this aint real or whatever is stupid too, that might be someone else's favorite song, who the fuck are you you know. If you're sayin something like music is something based on occassion I feel you on that.

And thus becomes a bitter person trolling forums for anything negative to post about Lil Wayne, Joe Budden, and anything anti-Sony related.
I just stated my opinion. Sofi started the thread to promote discussion. If people disagree with me, that's cool. We can discuss it. There is nothing bitter about that.

See I can understand what you're trying to say and it makes sense. Everyone has a unique taste in music, fair enough. But if someone comes up to me and tells me that Piggy Bank by 50 cent is a great song or This is Why I'm Hot is a great song I automatically stop listening and disregard what they're saying because they have terrible taste in music. Now its fine that the music they listen to is straight shit(yes it is bad music, even if you like it) just don't fucking try and talk to me and sound knowledgable about music because you know nothing about it. Shit like that irritates the hell out of me.

Now Sofi I think you need to expand on what you mean. I enjoy listening to Joe Budden, he's a dope mc. Lil Wayne on the other hand I cannot stand, BUT if Lil wayne is being pumped at a party I can and do get down to it because.. well I'm not really listening to music at a party. Music at a party isn't meant to be listened to, its meant to give you a rhythm and to create an atmosphere.

I honestly believe that the whole argument of "everybody has their own taste/opinion about music" is pure bullshit.

By saying that you are putting an end to the argumentation. Who the hell can argue with freedom of speech?!

Now, I think that differences in opinions are great and have to be listened to and considered by everybody. Criticism between fans and between artists is what makes something advence and get better.

On the other hand, saying "Lil Wayne sucks" and not explaining why is not helping at all to the discussion. It just proves that you are stupid. Same thing with "Lil Wayne is great and if you disagree, then you're an idiot". This doesn't bring anything to the argumentation.

So please, stop acting dumb and give reasons why you like or dislike certain artists.

I for one completely agree with Da Funk. Lil Wayne is a party rapper, you don't listen to what he says, you just bounce to his rhytm and vibe. Fuck his lyrics, they are not good anyways (too simple "money cash hoes" type of thing). I like him for partying.

Listening to Lil Wayne for his lyrics is like bumping Canibus or Ras Kass in a club... Besides, those 3 artists don't even reach the same audience. Lil Wayne reaches for the clubs while Canibus and Ras Kass are reaching for the lyrical fans.

If I'd hear Lil Wayne in a club I'd run away. I can't stand his voice even on low volume at home.
I agree there might be some people having good fun listening to Lil Wayne. Most probably my eardrums work in a specific way colliding with Lil Wayne's voice, to me it's like an alarm siren or even worse, it so terribly hurts my ears.

But I don't say that listening to him to have fun to is bad

Also I'd even prefer Rass Kass type of songs in a club, he's got some nice party/chillout tracks. I wouldn't mind playing that in a club.

btw. I say about clubs and all but I rarely visit them :D I don't enjoy clubbing so now you know where does my opinion also come from.

See that's what I'm completely against. How is someone not knowledgable about music cus they like a certain song, that really makes no sense. So many damn people have that mentality too, like they are better then someone cus they are listenin to something different, your a clown if that is the case. Yes tastes vary, ears are like taste buds, everyone knows that, but to say someone' taste is terrible then to disregard em like you do is childish, idiotic, ignorant and narrow minded. I probably like a lot of songs you and most people, fake heads...cus they think better of themselves for listenin to "real shit", don't like and to say I'm less of anything cus of that is a smack yourself offense. If thats how you feel thats how you feel though, I think people appreciate things more with age and experience, maybe its something like that.

In general, your least favorite rapper IS Hip-Hop.

I think you misunderstood me because there IS good music and there is BAD music. I don't go around thinking I listen to "real" songs so I'm better than you because you listen to "mainstream". Take a song like Jedi Mind tricks Uncommon Valour and compare it to Piggy Bank. Uncommon Valour brought something fresh to the genre, Vietnam isn't really the subject of many hip hop songs. RA's flow is disgusting, infact he's probably the only person who could flow like that on the song. The lyrics are flawless, you get a very vivid picture from them. They weren't just something he wrote down once and decided to use he actually had to put some thought into creating this song. Now take Piggy Bank. The song is about the sound coins make when you drop them. What the fuck? What is that shit? 50 spits lyrics that any schmuck off the street could think of and his flow is nothing special. It baffles me how you could sit there and tell me there isn't good music and there isn't bad music. I mean just because a movie is made that has no plot, and terrible acting but someone likes it, its good? No it doesn't, it means that person has bad taste.

^ I'm not arguing that. I think the song is bad, but to think someone is less cus they might like it is dumb.
Thats the thing, I'm not arguing that they're less. I'm arguing that there is good music and that there is bad music. I mean its like I'm a business exec marketing a product and a random guy off the street who knows nothing about the business starts telling me what I'm doing is wrong and dumb. I would just dismiss his opinion, same as I do when people who come up to and tell me how 50 cent is a rap god.

Yeah but just cus someone likes 50 cent doesn't mean they don't know anything and you should dismiss their opinion. I'm pretty sure Rukas and Pittsey are pretty big 50 fans, should we dismiss what they say now cus of that? Absolutely not.
