It has been rumoured since 2000 but nothing ever got off the ground. FOX have owned the rights to this movie for all most as long and now they finally have got there act together;

Dragonball Z Live Action Movie Coming Soon!
9/14/07 @ 1:26 am EST - Posted by: Animeman

The 20th Century Fox studio is expected to shoot three big-budget movies in Montreal over the next year; each has a budget of at least $100 million. The films are the Night at the Museum sequel Another Night, Independence Day director Roland Emmerich's remake of the sci-fi flick Fantastic Voyage and a big-screen adaptation of the Japanese manga Dragonball Z.

Dragonball Z is adapted from the manga created by Akira Toriyama; the work was also turned into a Japanese anime series that played all over the world. It tells the story of an alien sent to destroy Earth, who has a change of heart and decides to join the humans in their fight against various aliens and bad guys.

There are no details yet as to when these three shoots will begin, but they are expected to wrap production by next July.

And I highly doubt this is just a rumour, I checked IMDB.Com and they have the film listed to be release in 2010.

I just hope it lives up to the expectations.

I remember so many times I've heard about new dragon ball and it all turned out to be lies ;(

I want this to be truth tho I'd prefer a new animated Dragon ball season.

Im pretty certain its true, like I said, the movie is listed on IMDB.Com set for release in 2010. I don't think they could pull of another anime series, DBGT wasn't a great sucess so I guess why they stopped. Though I admit I would like to see another anime series, they should really consider using the DBAF (Fan made) storyline if they do.
