There has been some interest in a CD reviews section, and this actually is set up and ready to go, but I need some dedicated staff to make it work. We had one before and no one did anything.

Likewise I am looking for more news staff.

Perhaps it is time for some of you to give back to StreetHop.com and get on board as staff members. Posting news is no harder than posting a new thread with a 200x150 attachment image.

Volunteers?

Oh and we are also starting up a blogs section, Big Easy has committed to writing a blog and Ruk told me to approach Linx about it but I havent gotten around to it so consider this that proposition, linx?

Anyone else interested? Its not a day to day blog on your homo lives either, its a hiphop blog, your opinions on what is happening right now and things that dont really fit into the realm of the news section, which you will also be given access to post in.

I suggested earlier to have a team of dudes that can do album reviews. Like 5 diff ppl give it ratings based on shit like (lyrical content, production, creativity, etc.) then they each have a short paragraph to comment on it.. and u can include like a rating system for each track aswell. This makes it easy for the team to do more reviews.. they listen to the album, spend 5 minutes rating and commenting, and u have 5 different point of views on the album.

Whereas if each person is doing detailed reviews, it'll em a much longer time to do each. And u'll only have that particular person's opinion on the album.

How about having a few hip-hop blogs but also a blog on other music? I'd be happy to do that one.

thats a pretty good idea. i would be happy to do this even though im not a huge hip hop head, maybe i could represent the more casual hip hop listener.

Since I dont have my own computer at the moment I dont think I am fit for the job. I dont wanna make a commitment I cant fullfill. Theres times I go weeks without getting a chance to get on a computer. So Until I can afford my own computer and can get back on the site regularly I think another group of dudes should get it started. Theres no point in me saying yea i'll do it, and then ImmortalTech dissappears for weeks.

But uhh I like the Idea of having heads that have somewhat different viewpoints and perspectives of hiphop.

Like u can tell Militant's a very musical dude, i think he'd make a great reviewer.

Linx! and 7syns, are imo the hip hop heads that stay most active, so they'd make great reviewers.

TheWood can be reviewing from the viewpoint of the casual listener.

.. so theres 4 that come to mind, if theres some1 else that would like to volunteer that would be great. If not I can try and stay as engaged as I can as a part of the team, and contribute as much as i can without a computer but hopefuly in the next 2 months I'll be a regular again.

oh yea, another interesting viewpoint could be the "Tupac obsessed" listener, just cuz of the nature of this site... and i dont think that should be hard to find on here. But one thing we need to keep in mind when reviewing is that we gotta try n review a range of hip hop, not just the new 50 cd and the new Lil Wayne cd. We need to review underground hip hop, experimental hip hop, abstract hip hop, and any other type of hip hop.

We can have flash back reviews like reviews of hip hop classics as to how relevant and how much they still impact hip hop today... theres alotta interesting shit we can do with the review section, we just need ppl that are ready to do it

This is a great idea, it will definitely attract new people to the forums and will keep the current members on the site as well. I would volunteer, but I only have 3 posts, and I'm still relatively unknown in this forum.

cheers for the heads up and I can't speak for linx but as far as having an involved role on the site like that nah i'm cool been there & done that with the same played BS results.

on that note, I wouldn't make a good reviewer seeing that even though i'm constantly hearing new material in hip-hop alot of it falls on deaf ears. the acts i like no one really gives a damn about because their either not commercially viable enough or "past their time". i downloaded ti vs. tip heard it twice over, deleted it, loaded up some tribe called quest.

linx, goymz & a few others like a.most are the answers however, dude's have mad knowledge with a wide spectrum of different hip-hop acts both old & new, underground & commercial.

peac3.

^^ I think it be even more benificial to have a viewpoint of that sort. Cuz the way I was thinkin, we shouldnt have reviewers that tink alike. We can use dudes that started listening to hip hop yesterday as well as dudes that been listening for years. We need dudes that cant stand club hip hop to dudes that thrive of that shit.

But anyways if u dont wanna be part of it, thats cool. I'ld get in on it, but like i said, i might be on streethop often for now, but might dissappear sooner or later cuz i dont have my own computer
