Today we have some of the worst medical care in America. And part of what's wrong with Moore's movie is the solution. The solution is not Cuba. I could make a documentary that shows the other side of Cuba. Where black Cubans, because of rampant racism, don't get any health care. They get the worst jobs and their freedom of speech is suppressed. So that is not an ideal. Of all the places to go, i would not have gone there. Also, I wouldn't look at Britain or France as models because they're not. France is nearly bankrupt because of how much they've spent on social services.
Instead, I would say, what do we need to be healthy to begin with? Why are we sick? So first look at the problem. Moore is simply looking at one symptom. The symptom is 43.9 million Americans without health insurance. How about the 99 percent of Americans, like obese Moore, without an awareness of why they're going to be ill? Nor the motivation, nor the tools to stay healthy. That's the real problem. That's the big picture which few people are aware of in any country.
So let's give everyone universal insurance without any education of what caused them to be sick and then say, ok, you're all insured. Go ahead and eat like a pig, drink like a fish, and when you get completely whacked out and toxic, and your body breaks down, we'll pay for it. That's not a solution; that's just more of the problem.
Moore doesn't ask what's wrong with the system that he wants everyone insured for. Getting everyone insured into a dysfunctional and unhealthful health care system that they are co-dependent on is not the answer. It's like saying the answer to our energy problems is free oil for everyone.
A more relevant documentary would show how doctors are paid big bucks by pharmaceutical companies to give their patients toxic drugs. How the FDA is in the pocket of Big Pharma. How a doctor's whole education virtually comes from drug infomercials. How Big Pharma suppresses alternative, natural treatments. But as usual, Moore completely misses the boat with his socialist agenda.
