Film & TV Lost Season 4 Discussion

Lindelof confirmed that the purgatory theory isn't true a while back, I don't know why they brought it up in this episode.
think about the show as a real alternate world. what happens in that world will happen regardless of what we think or say or feel, or what's being discussed in the public eye right now etc etc. cooper was pulled into a van, woke up and found himself tied to a pillar in the jungle with a group of people just letting him stand there tied to the pillar, then he wakes up inside an old wooden ship. it's hot everywhere. cooper's proposal that he is in hell is not an unrealistic observation, and it would actually suck more if the producers systematically avoided certain subjects because they have been touched on before. for cooper it was completely natural to think he was in hell because that's what it felt like to him. regardless of what some people have theorized about the show or what the producers have said.

this is all just a guess btw :)

BREAKING NEWS!!!!!!!!!
some information on how lost is gonna end (not spoiler):

when season 3 is done, there will be 3 more seasons.
each season will be 16 episodes, aired consecutively.
the season will run from february-may 2008, 2009 and 2010.
each season will run for four months, following an eight-month hiatus.

it basically equals two more seasons containing 24 episodes. personally, i think i like this new setup better. i'd rather have three shorter seasons than two longer ones. the long seasons just make me crave answers so much i want to die. besides, this way they can break the remainder of the series into three sort of chapters instead of two.

8 month breaks? Oh no....

That really really sucks. They are dragging it out way too long. Personally I had hoped this would be the last season when it started, now I wished the next one would be the last.

Sorry, but 2010? Im going to be so over it by then.

My Lost theory.... As originally posted here: http://www.losttv-forum.com/forum/showthread.php?t=34598

This weird theory just popped into my head.

What if the reason the Island can not be seen by the outside world is because it doesn't exist, anymore.

The Hanso experiments happened in the 70s right? Well what if thats where the Losties are now? Theres no sign of any modern technology on the Island unless it was brought there, and the Island is a strange mish mash of times and eras, from the big statues to Hurley's VW hippy van.

My theory is that when the plane went down, it went over some Bermuda Triangle type thing, and got sucked back in time. Perhaps this time displacement is caused by the EM field generated on the Island.

Desmond can somehow see the future because he has a connection with the outside world, so he can "see" what has already happened.

Also, the plane they found in the pacific, it is our flight 815, and they are our losties on board.

Remember Naomi said that they found the plane on the bottom of the ocean and little robots went down and saw all the bodies, they never actually dragged them up. Id assume all the bodies were damaged due to water. So what if the plane and people went back 30, maybe 40 years, and then continued living there so the time over laps. Then something happened to the Island causing it to be destroyed which is why the outside world can not see it, but the plane and the losties "survived". So they found the plane, but it hadnt been there for 40 days, it had been there for 40 years.

The others probably know this and to some extent can control it and communicate with the future, even travel to it; probably though some sort of work hole, the very same one the Lostie plane accidentally fell through.

The Russian could have known Locke in the real world, but he was much younger and he travels to the Island further into his future, by the looks of him perhaps from some post-Apocalyptic Snake Plisken world ;)

What you think? Probably not but the idea made me think.

No, I'm glad Cooper brought it up. It's just annoying that everyone's going to be coming up with new "They're in Hell!" theories now that it's been mentioned on-screen. I did like how they had Ben curtly tell Locke that The Box was a metaphor and not a literal box.

amen. remember after "Dave" everyone thought the whole show went on inside hurley's head lol? i don't get how someone can think that such a huge plot point is gonna be revealed in such a trivial manner, but a lot of people who watch the show seem to be idiots lol.

man i'm on that forum too! i hardly ever venture out of the spoiler section though. maybe we'll cross ways there some time :p

I heard they wouldn't be back until next season, but really it's just a matter of time.

Does anyone listen to The Lost Initiative podcast? It's produced by Sky One (who air the show in the UK) and it's pretty cool. They have people e-mail and phone in theories, many of which are really, really bad. Someone e-mailed in this week suggesting that The Others took Christian Shepherd's brain and put it in Tom's body, and that's why Tom is so friendly to Jack, and was throwing a football around with him.

I would say shut the fuck up & stop spoling the show for us!
yeah, you can stop watching it now because i just told you all the answers.

i didn't say it was gonna happen, i asked you what you'd say if i told you it was gonna happen. it could or it could not. if anything, knowing that one of them may or may not be coming back should only build suspense. a few questions that would pop into my mind if it were to happen: why did he come back? how did he come back? why did one come back and not the other? i can keep going. seriously lol. you're 15 pages deep in a lost thread, what did you think we'd do, talk about our favorite characters and post wallpapers?

but yeah, maybe i should have added a "-----------SPOILER---------" to that, although most people would probably read it anyway.

the way i got it they were both tied up in other business. harold perrineu (or whatever, michael from lost) is starring in his own series and tried to work out a deal where he could maybe appear on lost in the next season, but everything was really up in the air.

i'm so psyched that they have decided on when to end. i hope/think the next three seasons will rock. and since we're in the end game, and since the season 2 cliffhanger didn't pull as many viewers back for season 3 as the season 1 cliffhanger did for season 2, something of which they have been made very aware of recently, they have some pressure on them right now. which could only mean that the rest of this season is gonna rock too.

i will always be a lost groupie. jack can ride me like a pony if he wants to, i don't even care.

i did. i think stills revealed one segment where you see someone's eye, and one segment where you see an old man with neck long hair sitting in the chair.

so the ash or sand around jacob's house and in his chair. i wonder what it was. locke seemed to think it smelled weird.

by the by, a theory that i didn't come up with myself is that locke got shot where his old kidney used to be and for once, what his dad did to him is actually gonna help him. personally i don't think he's gonna die.

Yeh there is a quick shot of someone in the chair right after Ben gets pushed back to the wall. That episode was great imo, i think maybe Jacob will save Locke in some way tho.

i agree.

another thing worth noting is that he didn't do any interviews or appear on any tv shows the next day, which is pretty standard when someone get killed off the show.
