**SPOILERS**

I was very disappointed by Catch 22, it was just a filler episode. I guess because I only really like the core episodes and the battle with the others so anything not other, Jack, Kate or Sawyer related just bores me.

Plus its retarded that we dont know is saving Charlie "changed" anything. Was the women originally Penny and then she changed to the other women because Des changed the course of events or was he worried throughout the whole episode over nothing? Seems to me he was worried for nothing, and that just makes the whole episodes suspense pointless.

i agree with you rukas on many things. it was indeed a little bit of a filler episode. the quest to go and get one person gets dragged out through an entire episode with nothing else interesting happening. through seeing desmond's flash in the beginning, the episode got a little bit more interesting. here's something to throw you off with though: someone snapshot every flash in the sequence, and one of them shows penelope. you only see her face, and behind her, what looks like a jungle basically. which opens the speculation that saving charlie actually did change things. i'm very intrigued by desmonds storyline and the future-seeing ability, because it's angled in a way that makes it cooler than if he were an untouchable hero. it also intrigues me, because not only do i think it ties into the properties of the island, but the properties of the universe. imagine time as linear, then bend it around. i think there will be a twist to desmond's ability. something of the same proportion that there are several timelines, that there's a desmond in each timeline, and that they overlap eachother or something. i don't think it's that exactly, but a similar twist i suspect will come at some point. it would have to in order to explain miss hawking and the munk.

(un?)fortunately, i already knew naomi was coming prior to the episode, so i didn't have to worry about the suspense. i think it's a fair assumption that this episode is like a bottleneck. after this episode, it's gonna escalate in every direction. i read upcoming episode descriptions from buddytv, now if i remember correctly, some times they're to be taken with a grain of salt, but FUCKING OMFG!!!!!!

locke going with the others and how that whole storyline resolves itself is gonna bring epic elements into the story. we'll revisit a lot of things that have been the causes of WTF-moments in the past. i am so damn excited just by reading a short, vague description of what's up next.

Same here, and that kind of ruined the episode for me. The flashbacks seemed pretty tame too.

Up until the Charlie episode. Unless Charlie dies (and I think he will), I can't see anything interesting happening there. I guess we need slow episodes, so we don't all have a heart attack every week.

D.O.C. was pretty cool. ending was nice although it's something that a lot of people have seen coming.

-----------SPOILER--------------

according to the producers, the passengers are NOT dead, and they are not in purogatory.

promo for next week looks cool, but it's gay that they started using that music for every trailer:

So they arent dead, but the plane was discovered. It's either a cover up, which I expect it to be, The Others/Darhma having some government ties or something, based on the creators Alias past, or something to do with a split in time a la Desmond.

For me, the most interesting part of D.O.C. was something that most people (myself included) wouldn't have got were it not for the magic of the Internet:

When Naomi speaks in Portuguese, Mikhail claims she said "thank you". She didn't. In fact, she said "I'm not alone".

Anyway, next week we get to see what happened with Locke and his daddy. That has to be a good episode.

-------------------SPOILER

i hear lots of good stuff about The Brig. apparently it's gonna give away a few answers. and possibly render the mini season at the beginning of season 3 quite pointless for the time being. a question i saw raised somewhere was "did ben ever really need jack?" which imo puts an interesting twist to everything we think to have learned about the others. we find out what naomi's doing there. also, like you said, what happened to locke while he was away. we'll learn how cooper came to the island. the flashbacks pick up when locke sees his father tied up, and end before he told kate he was going with them. so the flashbacks are all about that one night it seems.

some reassurance for people who are scared: the others' infatuation with pregnancy and children doesn't necessarily have anything to do with them not being able to have children. that plotline is gonna get touched on in the next few episodes. as will some of the island's properties. i know from the end of season 2 that by the end of season 3, the last scene of "live together, die alone" will have paid off. now taking the others' recent departure and otherwise peculiar behaviour, naomi and her connection to desmond and penny, the time mumbo jumbo, the island's very special properties, and the fact that i think there's gonna be some showdowns between various people coming up into account, i wonder where the hell this is going. so many loose threads.

Lost is hands down the best TV show in the past ten years if not longer.

Anyway.........

*SPOILERS*

Rather predictable episode in terms of it being Locke's father and not Ben, saw that one coming from a mile away.

They are really pushing this whole heaven/hell/afterlife/purgatory tip, rubbing it in everyones faces that the losties really died on the plane. Makes me believe that if they are being so forth coming with it; it cant be true.

Good for Sawyer.

Lol come on - how long has it been going on and still no answers???
i could write an essay on this and you still wouldn't change your mind. i want to compare lost and other tv shows to collectors of 2pac items. while some people are all about the rares, some people just enjoy the hunt. likewise, some people want entertainment on a silver platter. with lost, part of the entertainment is in speculating and theorizing. seriously. and through doing so you are able to draw conclusions that are as good as answers. i think it's very random though. i was mind blown by the others. i just didn't understand why they did what they did and what their goal was. and then there were the numbers and the hatch. you knew hurley won the lottery with the numbers and now you have to enter them into a computer every 108 minutes or what, the world explodes? that's the mentality i took on when i started watching lost. i just couldn't connect any dots. there was no reason to it, no logic. no pattern. walt had special abilities and they kidnap him, then you learn that they kidnapped almost all the passengers from the tail section who survived. these are the same people who threatened to kill everyone unless they got claire back. not to mention that claire's child, which they seemed to want, appearently was surrounded by "danger" or "evil". now if you look at all of this with an open mind it's just insane. why, how, what are the questions that keep popping into my head. however if you get on that band wagon and say it's stupid because of any out of a number of reasons like "there aren't enough answers" or "they took it too far" then you sort of fuck yourself cause you'll never appreciate it. people are different i guess. some people like fantasy worlds and alternate realities, some people don't. if i do dare say so though, you're missing out!

Yeah, that was pretty obvious. Especially since everyone knew Anthony Cooper was the real Sawyer.

Lindelof confirmed that the purgatory theory isn't true a while back, I don't know why they brought it up in this episode.

Still, I really liked the episode.
