This is my thread

I had my own family member telling me at a holiday how he "found an article" about "de-flouriding" of tap water that lead to people's teeth falling off. Yeah, I've read that too. It's the kind of stupid shit I used to listen to on holidays. I kept my mouth shut, though. Can't fix stupid. I'm glad I don't have to hear it now.

Dissolved solids in liquid is 6th grade science.

Mystery my left nut that hangs lower. I don't go to the dentist's. It's a rip off.

I'm not sure what to call this man.

Plastic-eating enzymes are just one example of the means by which microbes can be harnessed to eat pollutants—from the ‘forever chemicals’ per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS) to cyanide and petroleum1. Governments and biotechs are investing in bioremediation, as the science of using living organisms to remove pollutants is known and proven, with the market expected to grow by $8.29 billion between 2023 and 2028. Bioremediation is “affordable, doable and uncontroversial,” says Jillian Banfield, a microbiome researcher at the University of California, Berkeley.

There might be some conflict of interests between these guys and the oil eating guys.

I use Apple Music, I like it better than Spotify or Amazon. Started using it when I went iPhone like 10 years ago. Streaming services, I'm constantly changing, except for Prime with Prime video. I got Apple TV+ for 6 months when I got the latest iPhone, but I won't be renewing. Black Friday had some good deals for Peacock and Paramount+. I got the Hulu/Disney one. That's about it right now, except for the $9.99/month Streethop Extravaganza Experience with Tha Massive Bell.

Couple escape Delhi smog by living in a bubble filled with 15,000 plants

Although the smog outside mostly scores more than 300 on the international air quality index, inside their home the level is just 13 and contains almost no particulate matter.

I love The Secret Garden and Nausicaä. Bio-Dome is okay.

Just saying...... it's such a huge mystery why an executive officer of a yuuge humanitarian insurance company got shot in the back. Yuuuuuuuge mystery. I don't understand why such an upstanding guy would be targeted.

So this guy who shot and killed the UHC CEO....still looking for him and there was a lookalike contest in NYC this past weekend. Some people joked about that killer probably showing up to the event for a laugh and blending in with the people there. I'm sure if it's true, there will be some surreal pictures taken at the event that include him.

I know health insurance companies fucked over millions of people. The denial process, the hoops they make people and providers jump through. I wanted this guy to be punished but I feel like assassinating him was not the way. Death was not the way. The more I see people celebrate it, the more sick I feel. People don't realize this, but this might branch out in to copycats. And not just for insurance companies.

We saw it on Trump, twice. I don't know who people are thinking of next but despite someone losing their life, it all seems so performative. And I wonder how many people are celebrating it but also voted against some form of universal healthcare a month ago?

Maybe people just want to see chaos.

Also, somewhat related, I ordered a Peak Design Everyday Backpack and Messenger bag on Black Friday. Guess what backpack the killer was, allegedly, wearing?

I was going to try them both out and see which one I liked and return the other but...I kinda gotta return the backpack now, don't I? lol

I also got a good deal on some Samsung Smarttags. One for the bag and one for maybe my car? Or keys?

I was looking at my insurance rates because it was open enrollment. When I turn 55 it will be $800/month for health insurance for my plan. Right now I have to pay $200 more a month than a man the same age because I’m “child bearing age”.

I’m not going to do murder about it but it sucks. The kidney stone incident last year was a 10k ER bill…I guess I just need to not drink any water when I’m hiking in the desert every couple years to get my moneys worth.

I have Senior photos of my son in an arboretum in the fall wearing the shooter jacket. I don’t know if it’s funny or not. Obviously he didn’t have the hood on.

lol sorry. drink away.

good news

Water above 374°C and 22.1 MPa becomes supercritical, a special state where organic solubility increases and oxidation processes are accelerated. Supercritical water oxidation (SCWO) has been previously shown to destroy hazardous substances such as halogenated compounds.

The findings of all three demonstration studies showed a greater than 99% reduction of the total PFAS identified in a targeted compound analysis, including perfluorooctanesulfonic acid (PFOS) and perfluorooctanoic acid (PFOA).

I'm keeping the bag, I think. And the messenger bag. I like them both and I can see a use for both of them at different times.

You only live once. And I doubt the backpack becomes a cultural icon, for better or worse.

I wonder what enrollment numbers are going to look like for UHC for next year. With everyone blasting how bad their denial rates are, I'm guessing some current UHC members make a switch and non-UHC members stick with their old plans or look at other insurers.

I had UHC at one point. I didn't know anything about insurances and my mom picked the insurance for our family. We switched to BCBS a few years back and still have it. I know my dad stopped accepting UHC folks in the past year or two because of their denials and appeals process. We still grandfathered in existing patients but no new ones from UHC.

I'm sure it costs more but BCBS seems to give the least resistance on approving things. But I know that deep down, they're all POSs

That earbud looks super uncomfortable. Which department is still using a screencap app from 1998?

I just read some of his past social media comments. Something about banning Tenga flesh lights.

He seems smart enough to carry out this thing and even throw in a joke with Monopoly money in his backpack but he just had to stop at a McDonald's get a bite to eat.

Here's how I would have done it................................

The portfolio Thompson managed generated USD 74 billion in revenue in the most recent quarter, making it the largest subsidiary of Minnetonka, Minnesota-based UnitedHealth Group. His USD 10.2 million annual compensation package, including salary, bonus and stock options awards, made him one of the company's highest-paid executives, as per AP report.

10mil / 365 = $27,397

Parasite.

CEO turnover reaches record levels in 2024 as 'increasing complexity' drives execs to the exits

We know where their fortified bunkers are.

Money talks.

What's this crazy story about this woman who just slept with 100 guys? It's all over X and I can't figure out why it happened. (Not really trying too hard)
