The Mean Streets
1. Dogg Food by Tha Dogg Pound.
2. Violent by Design by Jedi Mind Tricks.
3. 2001 by Dr. Dre.
4. Devils Night by D12.
5. Tha Streetz iz a Mutha by Kurupt.

I never get sick of these albums and aside from a couple skits I don't skip any tracks.

Show me what you got.

I think you’ll also like Xzibit’s Restless.
Yeah restless is a pretty good album looking back over it. Haven't listened to it in at least 13 or 14 years I reckon. I'll fire it up in the morning. Ive never even heard of TQ so I'll check that out too. I just looked at the wikipedia page for it and one song features Tha Dogg Pound so I'll check that out first and go from there

Nah listen to the album from start to finish it’s all kind of one long story. It’s really dope. He sings but it’s definitly HipHop. Very DPG-esque.

I'm so surprised that Kurupt's album made your list. It wasn't that popular, but I love it too.

My top 5 would be filled with 2pac's albums, from All Eyez on me and Makaveli to even Better Dayz.

Outside of those, I couldn't pick 5, but let me try the top albums that I listened to the most (and very highly recommend) as a top..18?

The Last Emperor's Science Team...Go! and Palace of the Pretender
Boot Camp Clik's The Last Stand
Bronze Nazareth's Great Migration
Cilvaring's I
Exposition's The Metro
Capadonna's The PIllage
Kenn Starr's Starr Status
Kurupt & J.Wells Digital Smoke
Edu Leeds Mass Movements albums
Nas & Damian Marley's Distant Relatives
Raekwon's Cuban Linx (both albums)
Red Gone Wild
Doggystyle and 2001 by Snoop
Statik's Population Control
Digital Bullet by the Rza
The Handome Boy Modeling School's albums
Wu-Tang Forever.

In no order, lol. There's no way I could pick top 5, but the Last Emp, Boot Camp and Digital Smoke would surely make my personal list.

Kurupt is easily one of my favorite rappers. I even love some of his weaker albums like agaisnt tha grain.

Was it you that recommended Digital Master by J. Wells to me years ago? There's a track on there that's one of my all time favorites. Paragraphs of Pleasure by Kurupt and a few others.

Not sure, but I've been recommending that one for a long time! Around 10 years ago The Linx had a thread with some of the most amazing rap that I still listen to, and that's how I discovered that album originally. That dude had the best taste in rap I've seen.

Anyway, Digital Smoke is one my favorite summertime albums. Most of it is consistently great, there aren't any filler tracks, and it's the essence of pure laid-back, west coast vibes. Plus this song's on it:

It's weird none of mine would be from Dre, Snoop, or even Tupac's like most people here. I recognize greatness but the album's just didn't resonate with me as much. Choosing a top 5 is tough
