This is a gamechanger. This is for movies what Napster was to music in the late 90's. A 10 second install, then one click HD streaming of all the latest flicks. Ridiculously simple interface. Hollywood are gonna be PISSED.

Get it now, before shit hits the fan.

Bitrate on all streaming is still too low for me really. Even with netflix and amazon instant. I especially notice it when panning or during dark scenes. I also avoid torrents or peer2peer anything, like the plague.

There are also people who share movies via plex. 1000s of them in HD. Although I think they charge a couple of quid a month. I'll stick to my old school methods for the time being. Fibre from end to end will probably be the end of broadcast TV.

My problem is I am a quality snob. I can't get enough of it. If I can notice the difference, I obsess over the poor quality. I haven't been able to watch broadcast SD or DVDs for about 3 years. It's what stopped me using my IPTV system, which is superior to SD, but inferior to HD.

This shit - http://www.zdnet.com/blog/ou/dont-believe-the-low-bit-rate-hd-lie/959 - sums up HD streaming sites for me.

I'm going to ask a dumb question.

This is still torrenting except that it's easier and more convenient? Not taking away from it, just trying to better understand it.

Sort of.

It does pull the data from torrents, yeah. But traditionally torrents don't download in order, so in order to stream, they've had to code it so that it does. It also deletes the file after you've watched it, on your next reboot. It simultaneously pulls subtitle files from a different data source too.

Yeah... That's what I took from it. It allows you to watch the torrent while you are downloading. Can you turn the "delete once watched", off?
