This is bad news for me. Call it naivete or oblivion, but I never did meticulous research to find out why so many of these file sharing cloud services were functional for such a long time. I assumed most had servers located in copyright infringement-free havens kinda like how Switzerland used to be a tax haven. Or they had servers on a boat somewhere in the ocean. I thought these people were smart. But then, Megaupload had servers in Virginia? WTF? ​

I thought most of these sites functioned under some implicit understanding that what they're doing is illegal and that they should do it for as long as they can before inevitably getting shut down. That's why they're all closing down and killing their affiliate programs. But I thought they had more balls, like, my host server is in Russia and you can suck my Russian dick. Or something like that. But nope. They're all scared as fuck.​

However, on the bright side, rapidshare seems to still be holding up well.​

I thought the same thing. All these sites were in Polish, German, Danish, etc. Why would they still keep servers in the US?

I used to use these sites mostly for TV shows, but now EZTV has everything I need and all is well.

You don't think these sites will find loopholes, such as new places to host servers, and then just come back again? Maybe under another name?

I just dunno where I'll get my pirated Android apps.
