Time to poke the hornet's nest.

I fry my chicken in olive oil. Well....I marinade chicken with some olive oil and spices. Then coat the pan with oil from the chicken itself and then cook it on medium for like...15 minutes. It gets a bit crispy on the outside and still stays juicy on the inside. I'm not patient enough to bake. Otherwise I'd do that. I did make a casserole with rice and cream of chicken soup and a few chicken breasts. That required the oven and was a meal for days.

The only thing that lasted longer was the pot of chili I made with the bagged chili mix. Six days, every meal. Threw some onions, some beef...oh fuck me, I gotta get some of that when I go back.

That, if anyone cares.

I love roasting because you just prepare it and then stick it in the oven and go do whatever until it's done. No stiring or shit like that. Prepare and then just forget about it until it's done.

Well, where I'm at, there's a communal kitchen which has everything, but I still don't want to use the oven. In my room I have a microwave and I recently bought a hot plate. So it's gotta be one of those two for me.

Even if I did have a kitchen like some of the people here do, I doubt I'd spend much time with the oven.

Get a george foreman grill man. Soooooo quick and easy.

When I am really calorie counting and know how much over I want to go to gain muscle but not fat I pre-prepare meals. I just cut the chicken breasts and weigh them, package enough into zip lock bags for one meal and freeze them. Then every meal I just grab a zip lock bag, take the chicken out, and throw it on the george foreman, microwave a bowl of frozen veggies and Im good to go. Sometimes I throw the veggies, after they are microwaved, onto the grill as well for a change. Dinner in 5 minutes tops.

You ever marinade your chicken and put them on the Foreman? It is such a bitch to clean the grill afterwards. I had a Foreman in college. It was a big one, though. Like, two Italian sausages and a burger kind of big. I'll need that small one if I'm bringing it in my suitcase.

We'll see. I didn't really think of that. The stove isn't that big of a deal either, since I have a hot plate. If it's cooking on the side as I do my work, then time isn't that big of an issue. It's just the oven that becomes a problem.

I just scrape the marinade off with the scraper thing while it's still hot, never really hard to clean. Otherwise, I, you know, have a girlfriend for that...

I do too. And I burn my right hand every time she does it when it's hot. And when it's cold it turns into a lava rock. #firstworldproblems

Doesn't genetics have to play some part in this?

I won't argue vegan vs omni, but seriously.. when it comes to exactly how long someone will live, how healthy they appear/actually are, how nice their skin is, etc etc.. certainly some of that can be attributed to their various eating habits. But a large amount of that has to do with genetics. So, in my humble opinion, in order for a comparison like this one to work, you can't just use a random vegan and a random omni (referring to the first couple of pictures) but you need to use to people who are genetically similar (no birth defects, predisposition to certain conditions, etc) and those two individuals would need to have been on a strict vegan or strict omni diet for X amount of time and then you can make the comparison. Otherwise, -shrug- the results are likely to be biased anyway.

For example, I think I have relatively smooth/clear skin. Now, if someone used an image of my face vs an image of someone else's with acne and said "blah blah, this person doesn't eat meat, see her skin? And this person does eat meat, see her skin?" that just wouldn't be a fair comparison. I've always had relatively clear skin, my mom does and her mom does, etc. It has changed for the better (regarding being less oily) a bit since I changed how I eat, but I've simply always had fairly nice skin. It wouldn't be fair to compare me to someone who struggles with acne. That's the point I was trying to make above, idk if it's clear or not. I'm kinda tired still. D:

Can Jokerman enter this thread now, please?
There wasn't anything said that was really wrong. And I see this thread's purpose being more to goad Casey than to discuss knowledge. Gillian does look bad, but I've never regarded her as an authority on health. She didn't really change her diet till she was like 35, and she has scoliosis which has her in constant pain and has to have taken a stressful toll on her.

Rukas explained his main point: "Eating meat would not demolish the benefits of a diet high in healthy vegetables."

Like I've said before, If done right, a person can be healthy on a vegan diet or with some meat in the diet. Many are not doing either right, however, and are not ideally healthy.

Do what you want, it's your body your life. Although I would love for there to be stricter rules on how Animals are treated.

I told my sister in law if I ever caught her buying Caged Eggs I'd punch her in the face and she said she will if they are on special and so I followed her around the supermarket for 5 minutes asking why she would want to buy eggs from a chicken that was forced to stand on wire like in the trolly that would cause them to break their legs and become diseased and would she do that to the chickens she had (she loved those chickens). I really wish Caged Eggs were banned.

Casey, do you use vegan condoms because of the casein or do you just raw dog it?

They are in the UK soon.

I get my eggs from these 2 fellas. They are ultra free range. I will be getting 2 more when I build the First Class Coop, I am planning.

Raw dog it. Never used em with my exwife and my new girl and i both got checked at the clinic and prefer other contraceptive methods.

Also, finally watched "Forks Over Knives" the other day. Even my meat loving chef friend really enjoyed it and was pretty horrified by the facts and figures.

So to that end - I would heavily encourage everyone here to watch it. I'll make it easy for you - Here's a torrent link, with 178 seeders, a full DVD rip. If you have good internet speeds you should be able to download it all in 10 minutes or so.
