I just caught up with season 4 myself. Loved the scene with Jessy sniffin lines then it went back a bit later to see him bouncing around his living room floor with a look in his eyes like he'd rather be dead!lol. He's def in a bad place at the moment.

Forget holy shit... it's more like holy fuck now. Probably the most intense last 10 mins on TV, ever.

To add, the power-shift between Jesse and Walt is quite something. Oh, and I loved that shot in the middle of no where with the passing clouds. Amazing stuff.

Lastly, lmao @ Ted.

Yeah. Where they take this now is going to be real interesting.

What i want to know is this: who was Gus in Chile?

I haven't figured that out yet as well. Might be something I missed though. My friend says he was probably a kind of drug-lord in Chile, trying to push his way into Mexico where the money and power is probably 10 times of what can be accomplished in Chile. Sounds plausible... but not sure.

Sofi? Have any answers for this?

From what was implied in one of the episodes, it seems he was a successful businessman with a good reputation on what could be the legal and illegal side of things. In the episode where he's meeting Don Eladio with a young a partner, Gus was playing the role of the venture capitalist, the money man, with an investment (the chemist). It's possible he worked in Chile for a subsidiary of that German conglomerate that owns his chicken brand. Also, I wouldn't exclude the possibility that his story to the DEA agents wasn't all lies. It could be possible he had ties at a local university where he could have met the young chemist.

I don't think he was a drug lord at that time simply because he was very nervous in that initial meeting with Don Eladio. He seemed like he was just entering the drug game and trying to apply what he knew in his past work to the operations side of drug distribution.

I would think any man would be nervous talking to the Don of the Mexican cartel, but what you say makes a lot more sense. Edit: Actually, I remember Gus being pretty relaxed overall - it was his chemist that seemed more erratic. I'll have to rewatch the scene though.

That being said, after tonights episode - Gus knows all.

I thought Gus seemed very emotional in that scene. Now he is cold and calculated. Therefore I agree with SOFI.

I also don't think Brock has ingested Ricin. So I don't think Gus or Walt poisoned him. And I think Gus realised something was up because of his meeting with Jessie. He had a hunch that something was wrong and didn't risk getting in his car. He knows how desperate Walt is.

If he was poisoned, it was probably on accident. But I also think that there's a good chance it doesn't have anything to do with the poison.

Yeah, Gus realized very fast that something fishy was going on. That's why he changed his tune fast and told Jessie he can have the week off.
