I like this integration. But somewhere, someone is fucking up. It's selective of which songs it displays on my Facebook. I can't find a correlation. It would show some files from my local library but not others. It showed DMX but not Big K.R.I.T. and Pink Floyd, for example. Anyone experience this?

haven't noticed anything missing on my end, but i don't use Spotify for local music playback, only streaming from their servers.

OK, I found out what it is. The files that are illuminated and look like links are shown on Facebook. The files that don't look like links don't show up. But I'm not sure why some are illuminated/clickable and some aren't.

OK, I figured it out. FUCK Spotify. To get that out first. They only show the song on Facebook if Spotify matches it to its database. So they see no point in you sharing what you're listening to unless some fuckhead can actually find the song on Spotify and play it. That ruins it for me because I have hipster tendencies and I need to show artists to people they might not have heard of already. But it's safe to say that if an artist's music is on Spotify, he/she has been "heard" on some level and there's not that much discovery of new artists going on.

That's why I scrobble from Spotify to last.fm - it tracks everything. If you have hipster tendencies, you ought to be using last.fm. It's the ultimate in hipster music tools. I love it when people look at my profile and see obscure funk shit and ask me about it.

I am such a hipster that I could give a fuck about impressing my peers with my musical tastes. I listen to the coolest music in the world on my stereo, if someone enters the listening vicinity I turn it off. I am too cool for school. In fact I am scaling down my coolness just mentioning that fact here.

On a side note: Spotify is available through Virgin Media's TiVo box.

Sky are still the industry leaders in the UK and im sure other parts of the world, but they should have more services built in. Their Sky Anytime is very restrictive but is a decent catch up service. They should also include some sort of music service, but I guess if they do, that it won't be Spotify.

Sky have a monopoly. Tivo >>>> Sky boxes.

I have neither and procure my channels illegally. Fuck the massive corporations. Viva la resistance. #OWS

Sky+HD boxes are primarily manufactured by Amstrad. Just thought i'd mention it.

Sky do have the monopoly, but their pricing is ridiculous. I've worked out what they plan to do after their price freeze ends in 2012/2013 or whenever it is. You can't add value packages for £1 each, you can only have none or all 6, meaning that the lowest you can pay is around £20, but you'll hardly have any channels or have all the value entertainment packages (music, news, educational, kids, lifestyle) and pay around £25. Then add Sky Sports (excluding ESPN) on top for £20.

As extras - unlimited broadband (£7.50/month), weekend and evening calls (landline - approx £12.50/month). so you're looking at around £70/month.

When 4G internet makes its way over here and something like Google Voice becomes popular (not the other VoIP apps - something that can actually replace your line rental), it'd save people so much on landline line rental and being forced to have a landline just so that they have home internet.

i'd actually quite like a Last.fm facebook app since i don't use spotify much any more.

Windows Media Player is my primary music player, and Google Music is my portable music player. Both scrobble music to Last.fm as did my Spotify account which I only really used during research/data collection and dissertation/essay writing last year.

I find that a lot of people shy away from sharing their music taste, and there is a general reluctance to sign up to things like Last.fm and Spotify. Even when they do, they keep their playlists private...
