^Season 7 kicked ass. Where Vince had his downward spiral? How could you not like that season?
Season 8 wasn't that great. Not terrible but not what you'd expect. I think the reason for all the problems you stated, SOFI, is that the episodes are 20-30 minutes long. They should've switched to the hour long format seasons ago.
Maybe its because I watched it all on VOD, but I whole heartedly disagree. This is the first season (season 8) I've watched weekly as they were released and it made the show less enjoyable. I found myself wanting to push next on the dvd player after every episode.I don't like Sasha Grey as a porn star (never even spanked the monkey to her), let alone as an actress. That whole downward spiral was pissing me off because it seemed so pushed as the result of bad writing..
The story lines they had going in the later seasons demanded an extra half hour per episode in my opinion. The scene after the end credits did leave it open for that movie everyone is talking about though.Since Entourage is a comedy/drama, I don't think there's too many hour-long comedy TV shows. It just doesn't work. The reason Entourage is so popular is because it catered to this new Generation Y ADHD crowd.
Yeah, the movie should be interesting.
I mean, with regards to Entourage, the reality is that there wasn't anything really good about the show...except Ari's character. More specifically, Ari's character in relation to his treatment of Lloyd and other people. Ari IS Entourage. Without him, nobody would give a fuck.
I mean, if you honestly thought that the writing for the friendship between Eric, Turtle, Drama, and Vince was really good, then I'd say you have a shitty taste. Also, at one point, a young woman (dob 1979) was writing most of the stuff anyway. You get a know-nothing young chick writing about how dudes operate as friends? GTFO out my face. I think why a lot of people might have liked the show is because the strong bonds that the show exhibited were a fantasy to a lot of people, as I mentioned. To me, I actually do go out of my way to keep it real with people I care about. I don't fuck people over. I have lost out on a lot of pussy because of being loyal, following an imaginary bro code, etc. Most people I know who enjoy the show have no friendship and loyalty qualities that Drama and Vince tend to exhibit for one another and the group as a whole.
That chick you speak of is Ally Muzika or something. She was always a writer, but didn't have much power... it's only since season 7 she became the head writer. As for the rest, agreed.
