with Miereles/Adam in the middle, Gerrard ahead of them with Downing/Kuyt on the wings and Saurez upfront?

Manchester United could sign Sneijder but i read in the paper today that Ferguson is reluctant to pay the 35 million asking price.

Sneijder is quite injury prone isnt he?

imo he is a classy player but alot of people think he is overrated. I was reading a post from an Ajax fan on another forum and he was saying tha the thinks Sneijder is overrated. Goes missing in games and then pops up with a free kick or hollywood pass and everyone is raving about him. he was also blaming him for Van Persie and Robben not being at their best at the world cup. thats a bit unfair imo.

nah Lucas will start. Most likely scenario is that Meireles will be on the bench. dont forget Aquilani too. Still think he will be sold though.

Meireles was good last season. but he wasnt playing in the centre of midfield and there is also a big question mark over his tackling. He pulls out of a lot of 50/50s which was a surprise to me. The first time i really noticed it was in the FA Cup game against Manchester United and i saw it on a few occasions after that.. Alot of Liverpool dont like him all that much because of that.

but imo he is a classy footballer. i like him alot. would not be happy if he was sold.

I havent a clue how they will line up tbh.

Kenny has options. He can play lots of different ways. I think Carroll will start a lot of matches.

£20m is a lot of money, but i still think its bad business. N'Zogbia had a good season, but i' not sure if he can replicate his performances again this season... and why is it bad business? because the price tag on him is also £20.

I want Thomas Hitzlsperger on a free. Looks like McLeish will use Stephen Ireland, and give him another chance. Delfouneso just signed a three year contract extension which i'm pleased about.

Shay Given could be a done deal.

Villa need to get off to a good start or they'll struggle all season imo

it'll be the same story as last season if we don't get off to a good start. new manager, loss of key players. this time 2 (young, downing) as opposed to 1 (milner). i think carlos cuellar deserves a chance in the side. he played really well, and was very consistent for us. collins and dunne were always preferred though. ciaran clark played well too at left back and centre-mid. warnock could get another chance in the side.

^^well SWP maybe for a lower team but Michael Johnson is no good for any team. dont know what the latest on him is. he was a very good prospect but he has just thrown his talent away. disgraceful.
