11/12 Premier League thread

what a great liverpool supporter you are hizzle.

Cuz I cheer for Forest? What the fuck does that have to do with anything? You like Sampdoria... What am I supposed to say? What a great fan Liverpool fan you are because you like Sampdoria? And don't give me that "it's a different league crap", Forest are in the Championship and have not been in the same league as Liverpool for more than a decade and I doubt that they are going to get promoted this year...

Because I watched the West Ham match? I was bored yesterday as a lot of my friends are in London for the first time and I didn't feel like showing them around. They went to Camden Town to shop the markets, I saw a footy stand there, went to see which scarves I didn't already have, got myself that Hammers scarf, walked 10 minutes, saw a pub showing the match, stayed there while waiting for my friends.

If you really want to know, I have the scarves of all the clubs in the Premier League except two, Everton and Manchester United, as I fucking refuse to buy them. I collect footy scarves and I like my scarves to be locally bought. I have over 50 scarves and I didn't want to pass on that occasion as they didn't have any West Ham scarves left at Lillywhites.

I seriously don't see why that bothers you? I am not a "Liverpool" fan, I'm just a big big big big supporter. I cannot consider myself a Liverpool FC fan as I have been to Liverpool only once. Out of respect, I leave the term "fan" and "supporter" to the locals and so should you. Nothing bothers me more than a (i.e.) New Yorker saying "We" when talking about Arsenal or Manchester United...

I can only be a fan of one club, and that is the club of the city where I was born.

Sampdoria are an italian second division team. Nottingham Forest are a team a liverpool had a bit of rivalty with in the late 80s. Not really the same but whatever, my point isnt about you liking Forest anyway. I understand how it is with you, in regards to the team you like or supporty, better now though.

And here we go again. This nonsensical higher that thou argument. You cant be a fan of a team just because you dont live in that city. bla bla bla. Such a stupid argument. So a guy in India who sets his alarm to get up and watch Liverpool during the night and makes the trip over to see them whenever he can, shouldnt be considered a fan of the team? The same should apply for the players shouldnt it? Any player born outside of Liverpool cant play for them either.

so this argument should be applied everywhere right? You cant be a fan of a team if your werent born there or you cant live in a place because you werent born there ;)

also, you realise that there is actually no proper football team where i live? the nearest one is a semi professional club that plays in the second division of the league of ireland and i dont live in that city either. I have less of a reason to be a fan of them than i do Liverpool.

And ofc, i dont consider myself as much of a fan as the guys who are in the Kop every week. When i go to Anfield, i dont sit there because i feel im not worthy to yet.

btw, there have always been big connections between Ireland and Liverpool. In fact, a good proportion of scousers are of Irish descent.

Kind of my point... I didn't classify you as a "New Yorker" type of fan, I meant that "I" would be considered a fan like that since I never watched a match at Anfield...

I know that a lot of footy fans in Ireland support Liverpool since it's near. Anyway, my argument may have been off a little bit, I was kind of pissed.

Also, that rivalry in the 80s wasn't much to be honest... It was exactly like you said it was "a bit of a rivalry"...

And I always loved underdogs, which is why I kind of like to cheer for Forest...

I think Hizzle is talking about fan-boys. Not genuine 'fans' ... For example, you apparently have been supporting Liverpool since the stone-age, and you will support them no matter what. First division, 2nd division, etc. Hizzle, I think, is talking about the fanboys that just give them props because they're part of the big 4 in England, and they're a household name like Chelsea, Man U or Arsenal. The minute they start losing - they switch it up to another winning team.

I do see where he is coming from though in terms of supporter and fans. I like all kinds of other clubs around Europe, and I hope all them all the best and watch them when I can, but I'm a fan. I don't get depressed or psychotic if they get relegated (even though I was kinda upset when Pompey went down...), now if it was a club I truly support (my case being Hajduk Split), I'd be devastated. Fuck it, Dinamo Zagreb just won the damn league and I still feel like garbage. Cock-suckers of the north........

Anyone see it when Mario Balotelli and Micah Richards swore on live tv after the FA Cup win?

Balotelli is hilarious, he said something like "my season has been shit, can i say that?"

yea i saw Balotelli. that was brilliant lol he is such a loon.

and he is being harsh on himself there too because he has done ok. Some games he has been terrible but he has player a few good ones too.

Forest lost. :( :(...

Was a great end... Earnshaw came in, scored for 2-1, hit the post in the last minutes, Swansea counter and score in an empty net (this is like hockey lol) and Forest lost 2-1. :(

I'd like to see Cardiff in the Premier League. They have been good in the past few years. And I hate Reading.

^^That goal was insane. The crowd in the arena all went 'oooooooh' when they saw the replay on the monitor. I've never recovered after his departure from United, I still cringe every time I see him score a goal for City.

^Agreed. I'm still a huge fan of Tevez, I wish he was at United still. Looking at his career in England is pretty awesome in 5 years he has won:
2 Premiership titles
1 Champions League
1 FA Cup
1 League Cup

He has won it all already.
