What are your thoughts on her. Never seen any mention of her around here.

To begin with i hated her, thought she was too much of a slag (with the image she portrayed). Then her background vocals and choruses drew me in. She seems to be getting better with her music... I'm not a follower of hers in any way, so i may be completely wrong but she does what she wants to do... for example that time when she collected that MTV award and said "Hopefully I can inspire you to give your finger to the cynics and fucking be yourself!" - which kinda stood out to me.

Music-wise and in terms of her character, what do you guys think?

Also, i quite liked all the colourful paint effects in her song "Take It Off". Probably the first time i found her arousing and not irritating.

I don't enjoy her music, but it's refreshing to me that she looks the way she looks. Kind of explodes the myth that you have to look like Christina Aguilera to be a pop star. Lady Gaga does that too, with her ugliness. But all of this music is bad.

Why would it bother you if she's a slag? For me it's a bonus.
i dont mind sometimes. but i dont really like it in music... then you get all these 12, 13 and 14 year olds dressing like tarts. i hate that influence. not attributing it all to her, just making a point about influence.

for the older audience i guess it would bother me less because they are less influenced and know they dont have to copy their favourite artist to be 'cool'.

good music is good music. her songs are always playing at parties/clubs, and her music is good party music even though im not feeling it. makes for easy listening though.

That first hit of hers was a catchy song but I don't really consider her to be an artist. I also don't find her ugly at all but she looks like a whore in her videos and that's the main problem (apart from auto-tune meaning that she most probably can't sing).

I like her more as a songwriter than as an artist - example, she wrote the new Britney single, "Till The World Ends" which is fucking epic.

But she has some decent songs as an artist. Her first album, "Animal" was fucking awful aside from the 3-4 singles though, the rest of the album was pretty poor. The follow-up EP, "Cannibal" is MUCH, MUCH better.

I really like "C U Next Tuesday", even though it's obviously ripped off the chord progression from "True" by Spandau Ballet.

thanks. that's the kind of response i was looking for. was wondering whether or not it was worth checking her album out. that's what i was getting at implicitly.

i dislike her. i find her music to be rather generic much like Britney Spears, Christina, GaGa countless other blonde female singers. in 2011 they are all interchangeable.

Well that's simply not true at all LOL. I mean, clearly you don't listen to much of any of those artists you mentioned but if you did you would realise they are FAR from interchangeable lol. There's *some* similarities between Ke$ha and Britney's recent work due to the fact that they both work with the producers Dr. Luke and Max Martin (as does Katy Perry), and the fact that as I mentioned, Ke$ha wrote "Till The World Ends" from Britney's new album but that aside there's very little in common, and nothing in common with either Christina or Gaga.

I wouldn't call you an ignorant ass. So it was the former.

I like that you specified blonde. Meaning that someone like Katy Perry would not fit into that category despite being in the same general musical genre as the others. That was what was funny. And the great thing about pop music is that it doesn't have to a have a deeper meaning, it's perfectly fine for it to just be escapism and to make people dance.

Also the random generalization is hilarious. It's like saying Prince, Jimi Hendrix, Tom Morello and Chuck Berry are all the same because they're all black and play guitar.

side note, may not be of interest to anyone but i'd just like to state my point.

i prefer music with a meaning behind it - hence my love for soul music. but then again, pop music is great for easy listening - no hassle, worries or whatever, just feel good music.

When I go clubbing or bar hopping and get smashed, last thing I want to hear is something with meaning. I want to hear the beat drop hard, sexually suggestive lyrics (with lots of booty shaking) and shit that makes me get my Slavic jig on.

That is all.

Kesha and company can do that at the right time if the DJ plays his music right.
