Eminem performs both “Love The Way You Lie” with Rihanna and brings out Dr. Dre & Skylar Grey for the Detox single “I Need A Doctor”.
B.o.B with Bruno Mars & Janelle Monae perform "Nothin’ On You"

I was watching them up until Eminem's performance. Rap got snubbed I feel like. Nobody seemed too excited about winning except that one country group. Also, it seems like the Academy tried hard to surprise people, by snubbing both Drake and Justin Bieber for the best new artist award and picking the most talented (but the most unknown) out of the entire nominated line-up.

1) I enjoyed that Neil Young was there and cheering Bob Dylan.

2) Arcade Fire won some big award, and it made me feel bad, because I love them. You lose some credibility when you're Arcade Fire and you win a big Grammy.

Esperanza Spaulding is fucking awesome and I'm so happy she beat out Bieber and Drake for "Best New Artist". I've been digging her stuff for a few months now. She's from here in Portland.

Same, I was happy about that as well. Only thing I enjoyed the whole night, she's a natural talent, great voice and bass player.

^because that category is more or less a popularity contest. so it's surprising that the academy went that route. i think it's because the academy got tired of people predicting easily who will win. Let's nominate Eminem for 10 Grammys, have the media talk about how he's going to win a bunch, then only give him 2 to show them up!

Again, I didn't say she didn't deserve it. It was just surprising to me.

and then there's this: http://whoisarcadefire.tumblr.com/

I still don't think "I need a Doctor" will be on Detox.....

Who has a song on their album with only 1 verse from them, and 2 from a guest artist?

I am a fan. I don't mind waiting. The best who ever did it. I've been listening for 20 odd years. And he is a pioneer. His sound changed hip-hop. I still love those early years at Death Row. The Chronic and Doggystyle are still my favourite ever albums.

2001 was no slouch either.

I concur that he is the best and The Chronic and Doggystyle are albums I still listen to weekly. However, no one is worth 10 years of wait. I didn't listen to I Need A Doctor yet but Kush was average at best. With that kind of dragging hype, he set himself up for impossible expectations.
