no British folk here ever recommended a show like Shameless or Skins? I can't believe I went years without knowing about Shameless until we got the US version. I can't believe I went years without knowing about Skins until we got the US version.

What about The Joy of Teen Sex? It's fairly new, about two episodes in. I skimmed through the first one and there's a scene of a vagina being waxed. A real vagina, son.

You Brits have too many good shows to be dickryding US ones so hard.

I watched Shameless when it first came out many years ago. I don't really follow it now. I watched the first 3 seasons of Skins, but no longer follow that either.

I tend not to recomend any of our shows to Americans, as the humour is quite often very English. You seem to be unlike most Americans I have come across, you enjoy shows that are very typically British.

Joy of Teen sex is shit. I watched 5 minutes of it and was annoyed by a 15 year old girl talking about Anal sex. She was fat and ugly too. I can't listen to uneducated morons on tv, so I was quick to turn over.

Saying Shameless and Skins are for teenagers is like saying Black Swan is for ballet dancers or that No Country for Old Men is for...old men. The shows deal with teenage life but they're very adult (obviously) in content and theme. Obviously, there's the allure for teenagers to watch a show they can relate to and that's not dumbed down like Saved By the Bell and other corny teenage shit. Still, the shows, so far, are dope in their own right. I haven't seen the MTV version of Skins and don't plan to because fuck MTV and their shit. But SHO has done a great job with Shameless so far.

I don't really like Skins or Shameless. Although I did have a song in a UK movie, "Mischief Night" that was made by the people that make Shameless.

If you wanted a recommendation on a good UK show to watch, I'd suggest Red Dwarf. Now that's some classic shit.

Come Fly With Me is pretty funny. If you've seen Little Britain, it's the same guys and style of comedy. Just in an airport setting. I think it's my favorite British MODERN comedy.

Yeah, its pretty much like Pittsey put it, Americans sense of humor is sooooooo far behind, its not worth bothering telling you guys.

I do have a few american friends that watch british shows like Skins and Shameless, The Office.

I recomment you to watch This Is England and Misfits.

As for Skins, I see a trailer for the new season last night, are they following a group of metal heads this time???

Also i need to see this american version of Shameless. That show is about Northern Monkies, nothing in America could replicate that.

Parts of it are funny, parts aren't. Some characters are good. Others are weak. ie. Not good.
