^ Same. I would vote for Lady Gaga in one category though because I enjoyed her album (no homo).
But I wouldn't have any idea about others. Awards like this are always full of shit though.

You don't even have to try anymore these days. There are so many DESERVING, HARD WORKING artists who don't use auto-tunes and over the top edits to make their voice likable and THOSE artists don't get any radio air play and never get the credit they deserve for working their asses off.

Like who? I'm not disagreeing, I'm just curious. I wonder if the artists you'll name had chart-topping hits in the past year.

^word.

Eminem should win every category he's in, the only competition he has imo is from Empire State of Mind. How the fuck is nothin on you by b.o.b. on there? That song is so terrible, Airplanes, either version, is miles ahead of it, so is don't let me fall.

^^ That's part of my point SOFI, It's those artists that really deserve it, that aren't even anywhere on the charts. No need to name names. There's been a lot of great mulit-platinum selling artists out there you never hear on the radio but yet you hear all this other auto-tuned crap on the radio instead. *puke*

What? Of course there is a need to name them. Otherwise there is no way to figure out if your taste is awful or not :)

Janelle Monae deserves a motherfucking Grammy and therefore I'm happy she's nominated. For anyone wondering "who the fuck is Janelle Monae and why the fuck does she deserve a motherfucking Grammy", I point you to the below, out-fucking-standing performance.

How I Got Over – The Roots
^^^ Only thing that was worth listening this year on that list, rap wise.

Drake isn't bad though.

haha! No need to name names. Without names, your post is irrelevant! "Hey other people deserve this more than this person but I just don't know who they are?"

I'm sure there are artists out there with an incredible work ethic. But we all know that a hard work ethic only gets you so far. Again, I'm not saying no one deserves a Grammy more than the artists mentioned. I don't know. I'm just curious who because I don't really follow mainstream music lately so I don't know who's put out better material in the last year. So yes, there is a need to name names.

Go.

No music fan should consider any of these awards serious.
It's basically about top *something* amongst top10 selling/chart position tracks/albums of xxxx year.
Definitely Distant Relatives was the best commercial hip-hop album but looks like even that wasn't commercial enough. And that means that we have to forget about rappers that we listen to to be nominated for grammys, even those that are well known and recognized.

I don't think that there are any serious hip-hop awards that award real talents or good music.
