Yeah, I know, I was being a bit facetious. I agree. I saw a headline about hackers using Kinect in ways that Microsoft never even thought about. I didn't read the article, though.

you know if you have the older xbox consoles? do you have to buy something extra to make it compatible with Kinect? think i read that before.

I have the older one and the only thing I heard was that you need to plug it into the wall for power.
On the newer ones, it gets power from the console itself

I have it. It's like sofi said...it's fun for a while but you get tired of it really fast. Some games take pix of you while you're playing and show you at the end. That is the funniest part. It's definitely not something I'd just chill and play alone. It's only fun with lots of other ppl.

And Kinect isn't replacing anything in the near future, it's not advanced enough. A hacker did actually use two kinects so that it can detect finger movements which it can't do by itself yet, not good enough anyway. But just like the wii it's fun for families and parties and that's about it. It might sell well but it isn't replacing anything. The best selling games are always fps and rpg and have you ever tried playing a shooter on the wii? It fucking sucks. I'm curious to see how a shooter is on the ps move cus I think that has the most amount of potential as far as shooters go but kinect, no way. Controller is the way to go, actually a mouse is the way to go but yeah.

I played with the Kinect and I think that it sucks. I probably expected too much. I could create a better implementation using 2 webcams.
It would be a nice add-on if it was free with the console but I don't think it's great for games - in my opinion it sucks even in those that are made especially for it.
I think that creating a hype Apple-style around it was unjustified but yeah, it's a way that does its job so Kinect sells.

LOL, not ACTUALLY free. depends which way you look at it. you can pay an expensive line rental for a shit phone from carphone warehouse and get the xbox + kinect for free or.... pay a low price for the low-end phone and pay additional instalments combined with the inclusion of xbox + kinect package.

if only it were actually free. if it were, then i'd have got one already. i never did use my PS2 eye toy though, so it makes me think twice. mainly want it for the boxing, since all ive heard is great things about it from my friend. mainly a party game thing though. maybe one day.
