Is Nicki Minaj the new Lil Wayne?

Some people do over-rate him.

I was on youtube and seen comments by people who said he'd smash Pac and Biggie if they were alive. It got like 50 thumbs up.
What do you mean by smash? Pac wasn't a 'battle rapper' per say, so yes Wayne could maybe do that, but if it comes to storytelling and actually having something to say Wayne would have to live 2 lifetimes to even get close.

That being said, while I'm not a big Lil' Wayne fan, he's come a long way since his humble beginnings.

Ok. I don't get this girl. She raps on everyone's songs yet her solo stuff is her singing lovey dovey tunes? Any credibility (and I can't believe I am even using that word, but I guess for lack there of a better term) went out the window the second I heard her solo stuff. So is she a rapper or a pop love song singer? Pick one and stick to it!

I didn't say it, but from the context it was used, it was as if they thought Wayne would out do biggie and pac in sales and 'music' wise. Nothing about battling was mentioned.

I think they did that to show versatility, but i think she's made it clear that she's a rapper. it's more like a song that she wants to do her self without needing an RB artist like every rapper does these days. SHE IS both. supposedly.

I prefer her raps though

Ok I see I agree on the versatility aspect but for me I'm just not feeling it with her. It doesn't "fit" her for me. I think she should stick to rapping and leave the versatility to an artist who can pull it off better.
