Amazing television, unparalleled by anything I've ever seen except 'The Wire' (however only halfway through that).

I was a little skeptical when a friend first recommended it, but it was a show held in such high esteem plus it had a score of over 9 on IMDB which is no easy feat.

For those who havn't seen it, you are missing out on legendary stuff. For those who have seen it, what about that ending eh?

At first I thought I had a dodgy copy when it just cut to a black screen. It was a brave move by the director but one I disagree with. It does give the show an air of mystique as we do not definitely know what happened to Tony. One can only assume from the closing events that he was shot/killed. However after following the show for six seasons, I feel cheated that all I am left with is assumptions.

What are your opinions?

Definitely shot....

A few episodes into the 6th season Bobby and Tony speak of Death, and how it feels. Tony says "It's just black and silent." Or something similar. Been a few years since I've seen it.

The Wire - Dunno where you are at. But I watched Seasons 1,2 and 3 when they aired in the US. But something happened in 3 (don't wanna spoil it, if you haven't watched) and I didn't watch 4 and 5 until last year. lol

Sopranos is the best TV...... EVER.

Based on you watching The Wire and "Sopranos". I recommend "Breaking Bad", "Sons Of Anarchy" and "The Shield".... I hated the ending of "The Shield" though. Ruined the whole show for me.

Oh yeah.....

David Chase needs to make a Sopranos prequel..... When Johnny and Junior came up... Or when Tony and Jackie came up.

I've just started season 4. Are you talking about the death of Stringer and / or the incarceration of Avon? If that's what you're talking about then yea, was gutted to see them two go out and see Marlo take the throne. So far Marlo's character just hasn't got the depth to be interesting enough, he comes across as very robotic.

I've heard good things about Breaking Bad, is that the show with Malcolms dad from 'Malcolm in the Middle' ?

Haven't heard of 'Sons of Anarchy', going to check IMDB now.

Yeah, Breaking Bad is the one with Malcolm's dad.

I was on about Stringer getting killed off. Ruined it for me. Never warmed to Marlon. I like the Barksdale crew. What can I say, I'm loyal.

Just finished the last episode of Season 6. I'm emotional :D.

From a purely entertainment perspective, I feel like the show peaked with Season 4. Season 5 and Season 6 kinda feel forced. That's just the feel I got after marathoning it. Obviously people who had to wait a week between each episode might feel different.

I have to throw it out there, AJ and Janice were by far my least favorite characters.

I felt Tony's orgasm scenes (such as getting head) were forced. Didn't sound natural, almost like if he was holding in his sneeze.

On a serious note, it felt very different waiting week between episodes. Best show ever.

Also, I also feel the way Christopher died was forced. Essentially, he died in the intro sequence to the episode, as if in other TV shows, it would be before the introduction credits start. He deserved more. Other guys had whole episodes dedicated to it, it feels like it.

1. He wasn't high on coke because his behavior was the same as when he was on heroin. When you're on coke, you're hyper, you're not dosing off and looking all retarded.
2. Doctors found cocaine in his blood, but not heroin?

= poor writing?

I mean, I know the point of the show was more a character study rather than specific plots, but still...

Besides AJ and Janice, my least favorite character was Tony's psychiatrist. She was so dense and unreactive, like she was on ludes.

^She's a psychiatrist, though. She's supposed to be subdued, unflappable, unreactive as if whatever problem the patient shares, it's still OK.

Most Tv Shows end poorly. For me, The Wire had the best ending.
The Wire had a great ending in that it wrapped everything up but i think that it was easier for the writers to do that given that each season had a unique storyline to it.

I also liked the ending of The Shield but i reckon i must be the only one as everyone else i know hated it.
