Who listens to Hip-Hop?

Honestly, when I was 23, I used to be just as passionate as you are right now talking about hip hop and etc. I used to listen to hip hop on a daily basis and find new music, artists and etc. But by the time I turned 25, I stopped caring for it. I really stopped caring as much and have stopped listening to it as much too.

Maybe its because life takes over and I really don't have --time-- to give to hip hop like I did when I was younger, but it's so funny because when I was younger, someone said to me as well that by the time I'm in my mid twenties, hip hop won't mean shit.

And now I see, it really didn't.
I would argue that it is not hip hop, but music in general that we lose base with as life takes over. I used to spend hours as a teenager searching the net and p2p networks for music. Now I simply don't, I don't have the time.

This discussion really doesn't hold value because most people here became Tupac fans then rap fans. So it's kind of a moot point.

I don't find rap immature because rappers rap about things that most of the time, only mature people can have...like expensive yachts, mansions, cars, clothes, etc. :D

Alright, that last part was said in jest, but the point is, I don't need a rapper rapping about current events or philosophizing for me to listen to him and that won't change regardless of my age. As long as a rapper speaks his mind in an interesting and witty manner, I'm good.

I starting listening becuz of Pac also...

but then i went through this phase like 2 years ago that i never downloaded any new music, just stuck with the stuff i had, this lasted a good 2 years, then almost out of nowhere i got back into it. Started downloading and getting new music... I really don't know why...

U must b a lil weezy cheesy fan then LOL
only real old skool shit from 96 coming from my speakers

Sorry, couldn't resist.

I still listen to Hip-Hop. Just been digging into rock music for the past years so I'm not really up on the latest releases/artists. I checked out Big Boi's album recently though and I thought it was great. I'll be checking out the lastest releases by Brotha Lynch Hung, The Roots and Reflection Eternal but the rest will have to wait.

I've been digging through more Wu-tang affiliates and their albums as well as other older albums from artists like Afu-ra or Cunninlynguists.
I still enjoy some of the latest albums though - Statik Selektah's, Audible Mainframe's, 60 second assassin's, Nas & Damian Marley's, Tek's mixtape, best of Duck Down records, Marco Polo, Wu-tang's Pollen, Edu Leedz, 9th Prince.
Some of them were average with a few nice gems while some of these albums were very good.
