Just when I thought 'Fireflies' by Owl City was my song of the year.......Gaga comes through at the last minute with a song, aptly called 'Monster' to take the top spot.

This song has it all.....Industrial dance beats, layered 80's synths, epic vocals, killer melodies, and amazing chorus, it's danceable as fuck.....I think it's her best song to date.

Is anyone still doubting Gaga? Because honestly - she's the new Queen of Pop. Without a doubt.

Yeah, I agree. I think, with "The Fame", she was still finding herself as an artist. Still, "The Fame" had at least 5 really good songs (Just Dance, Pokerface, Starstruck, Paparazzi, Lovegame).....but then there was 7 or so average songs as well.

With "The Fame Monster" - there is more direction, there's a cohesive style to it, way more industrial and goth than "The Fame" was....more pop and less urban as well. And all 8 tracks are just killer.

I think Lady gaga is pretty terrible. This is comin from a Madonna and Christina fan. And i think the song below just sounds like the music that Madonna has being doing since 1997. In saying that i aint herd her new album so i shall check it out.

I'll have to listen to it when I come home from work.

I think Lady Gaga is extremely talented, she's also quite intelligent. I've heard her on radio interviews when she kicked off her tour here; she is well spoken, articulate and pretty level-headed.

I'm not fond of the crazy look she has all the time, edgy is fine, but sometimes... I really wonder if she enjoys looking the way she does, or if its part of the gig.

I would say she's the Queen of Pop at the moment. Most people thought Brittney or Christina would take it, but they don't bring anything new. Gaga, despite seeing a lot of old school Madonna in her, still does her own unique thing

Despite everything she's done so far, there are still a few people that doubt Gaga. But this performance I'm about to post, turned a few of the doubters into believers. This was filmed 3 weeks ago and broadcast 2 weeks ago in the UK at the Royal Variety Show.

Gaga just kills it, people that may have only heard her on the radio might not know how talented she is on the piano, but after seeing this you know she's got skills.

Gaga has written some songs just in the last year that rival anything Madonna has ever done, and Gaga is certainly more musically talented than Madonna. As for Britney and Christina, as much as I love them, they are not songwriters.

Stefan, Gaga actually wrote one of the best songs on Britney's last album.

Unfortunately the nature of pop success means that musical talent often goes unnoticed. For example, anyone that knows anything about Prince knows that he is one of the best musicians on the planet, guitar, bass, and keyboards, and also one of the best songwriters of all time (when you take into account the wide variety of genres he has conquered). However, to the average person - they only know 'Kiss', 'When Doves Cry', 'Raspberry Beret'......they only really know about him as a pop artist. When he does massive shows like when he did the Superbowl in 2007 or completely destroyed Tom Petty, Dhani Harrison, Jeff Lynne on guitar on "While My Guitar Gently Weeps" at the George Harrison Rock N Roll Hall of Fame tribute, anything of that scale, you always get people saying "Wow I didn't know Prince was such an amazing guitarist"......which just seems ridiculous to anyone who knows even the slightest thing about Prince, since he's always been an amazing guitarist.

I think the same will happen with Gaga.....most people won't see how well she plays piano and won't even realize she plays it, because her success as a pop artist overshadows that.

Gaga is a MUCH better piano player than Alicia Keys for example.

But Alicia really pushes the fact that she plays as part of her marketing and image, so more people know that she plays, even though she's really very average and her playing is repetitive.

Technically "The Fame Monster" is an EP. They re-released the first album with an extra disc containing the 8 new songs.

But given that it has a whole new musical direction, is more cohesive, has new artwork, etc, it might as well be her second album.

stefan, I honestly haven't been too impressed with little boots so far. I don't get the hype with her, but to be fair I have only heard a few of her songs.

Just dance > Monster because I'd rather hear that everything is going to be OK instead of hearing that she eats hearts or...something.

I find The Fame and her new Monster Fame are two extremely different records.

I personally think she is trying too much. I found the songs on The Fame were all very similar. If you listen to Monster Fame, the songs on there too. It seems like she gets on a musical pattern and keeps it going for a whole record. That is comingfrom a regular non-music educated consumer.

There's no doubt she is talented. But for how long can she stick to being weird and controversial to stay on top?

Isn't her new single, Telephone? It's with Beyonce, it's pretty good.... anyways... Monster should be a big hit, but I have this feeling I've heard the beat before somewhere.... Anyways, doesn't matter, there is nothing wrong with Sampling and making it your own.
