Film & TV Sherlock Holmes

I love Guy Ritchie films but I can't stand the main actor in this film so I won't bother watching this..

Ritchie should make another British dark comedy flick. Lock stock and Snatch are some of the best movies ever made IMO.

Mark Kermode liked it. Mark Kermode hates Guy Ritchie (for all the right reasons), and isn't a big fan of Robert Downey Jr. or Jude Law, but he liked it. The fact that Guy Ritchie didn't write it probably has a lot to do with that.

I might have to check it out.

I saw it. Was decent. I hated how they emphasized on his boxing techniques. Ruined the flow of the movie (the 2 times it did).

SPOILER---

I also hated how it was about Watson leaving Holmes when in my head they are supposed to be the 2 together. But I haven't read the books so I'm not sure if it's normal but Watson leaving Holmes to get married doesn't make sense to me.

I never liked it. I like Robert downey and jude law, but i aint a fan of Guy ritchie at all. I walked out half way through. Only reason i went to see it was i had to kill some time. Im sure some people will love it though. I should have went to see Nine instead, i was gonna but it never started till 30 mins later.

Carmi i know what you mean, all that left hook to the liver, right cross to the jaw, that shit is to me is just guy ritchie drivel.

To be fair Robert downey was class, but he always has been.

I remember seeing a Sherlock Holmes TV show as a kid, one of the old ones and it had something very intellectual about it. This film, from the previews, doesn't really portray that so I'm not even that excited to see it.

The actors played good considering the material they were given. As SOFI pointed out as well, I always assumed Sherlock Holmes was intellectual, not all fight. This movie all in all was decent because of the actors. But the directing and writing was average if not poor. Robert Downey Jr did a good job, so did Jude Law and Rachel McAdams.

I don't think it looks too good.
I didn't think so either. I was dragged into seeing it.

I liked his boxing technique. I think it showed how he intellectually thought it all out. Not brawn at all, imo.

I was hoping Rachel McAdams would be more in it, but DAMN everytime she was. :amuse: When she woke him up I was like "i wouldn't mind waking up to that."
haha

I liked the movie though. 3.5 maybe even a 4 out of 5.

I like when shit trips me out b/c I didn't see details, then it shows u what it does.

Spoiler:

Remember when Rachel McAdams punctured a hole into the wine bottle? I once had a girl do that to me w/ a condom, luckily I felt it. Since then, I use my own condoms.
Seriously though, I didn't expect that at all. I thought she was going to do something else, like break the glass on his head and jump out or something.

They need to do a movie with Chuck Norris, Jack Bauer & MacGyver.
I watched MacGyver the other day.. He was in a warehouse drugged and had 20 min to live. Then said to himself "think MacGyver think.." *looks around* "a rope, sheets of board, fire alarm... that might just work".

So MacGyver. I don't remember it being that dodgy.
